Athletes will compete in a knockout format for both men and women, competing for 55 sets of medals. The tournament will create good conditions for Muay athletes national to have the opportunity to compete, exchange experiences, learn and improve their professional skills, thereby further promoting the Muay training movement.

Opening the tournament, Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports Pham Xuan Tai said: The tournament is a sports activity to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2).

In Vietnam, Muay was introduced around 1950 and officially put into competition in 2009. Up to now, Muay continues to develop strongly, becoming a popular sport that many people study, especially at international tournaments, the Vietnamese Muay team has achieved many outstanding achievements, specifically athletes Bui Yen Ly and Nguyen Tran Duy Nhat have won the world championship many times and the SEA Games gold medal. In particular, in 2025, two young athletes Hoang Khanh Mai (Hanoi) and Huynh Ha Huu Hieu (Ho Chi Minh City) contributed 2 gold medals at the World Championship, Asian Championship...

"The National Youth Muay Championship is a useful professional playground, creating conditions for Muay athletes nationally to exchange, learn, share training experiences and improve their competition level. This is also an opportunity for the Muay department to select young athletes with the ability to be promoted to the national team, trained to prepare for national and international competitions. Through this tournament, experts will evaluate and select excellent athletes to call up and train the national Muay team to prepare for the 33rd Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) in 2025 in Thailand," Mr. Pham Xuan Tai affirmed.
The 2025 National Youth Muay Championship will take place from July 7 to July 15, 2025 at the Hanoi Athletics Palace.
