On November 5, the leader of the People's Committee of Phu Loc district (Thua Thien - Hue province) said that the local government had just coordinated with the military to urgently evacuate dozens of households living at the foot of Phu Gia mountain pass after discovering a long crack on the mountain. The crack is about 50 meters long and about 4 meters wide, with a risk of landslides on Phu Gia mountain.

23 households with 88 people and their belongings have been moved to a safe place. Authorities have put up warning signs, not allowing people to enter dangerous areas.
According to local authorities, a few years ago, a crack about 200 meters long appeared on Phu Gia Mountain. This place was identified by authorities of Thua Thien - Hue province as a dangerous area, with a high risk of landslides every time there is a flood.
The crack created a landslide of about 20 meters on Phu Gia mountain.
From the evening of November 4 to the afternoon of November 5, heavy to very heavy rain occurred in the district. It is forecasted that heavy rain will continue in the coming time. Therefore, the land in the hilly area is saturated with water, with a high risk of landslides.
To prevent dangerous situations from occurring, the People's Committee of Phu Loc district directed the communes of Loc Tien, Loc Tri, Loc Binh, and Loc Dien to urgently evacuate hundreds of households in areas at very high risk of landslides. By the afternoon of November 5, the evacuation of households was completed.
