Universities and colleges prepare for opening ceremonies

September 5 this year marks the first time in history that all levels of education from kindergarten to university across the country will start a new school year on the same day. This year’s opening ceremony also marks the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Ministry of National Education, now the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET). Colleges and universities in Dong Nai will hold their opening ceremonies online with the MOET.

At the same time, activities to welcome new students and open the new school year will still be organized by many colleges and universities in the coming time.

Join in the joy of the whole country

The opening ceremony for the 2025-2026 school year will be held at the National Convention Center, Hanoi, at 8:00 a.m. on September 5. The event will be connected online to all educational institutions nationwide, from kindergarten to university. The simultaneous opening of all educational institutions on the same day will create an exciting and jubilant atmosphere across the country.

Right after the National Day holiday on September 2, on September 3, Dong Nai Medical College organized a school opening ceremony for all students. In particular, first-year students will meet and get acquainted with academic advisors; second- and third-year students will participate in civic activities at the beginning of the year. Next, on September 4, the school organized a health check-up for first-year students. According to the plan, on September 10, all departments will organize a welcoming ceremony for new students. This is a series of activities to prepare all students for the new school year 2025-2026.

Following the direction of the Ministry of Education and Training, Dong Nai Medical College has carefully prepared for the opening ceremony of the new school year. Accordingly, the ceremony will be attended by all lecturers, staff, students, first-year students and representatives of second and third-year students of the school. After attending the online opening ceremony with the Ministry of Education and Training, the school will organize separate contents including: a report summarizing training activities in the 2024-2025 school year and deploying directions and tasks for the 2025-2026 school year, rewarding the top students in the new school year, launching emulation, expressing feelings of representatives of new students, and speeches by school leaders.

Dong Nai Technical College has completed enrollment and allowed students to enroll in mid-August. The school has also organized health check-ups and civic activities at the beginning of the course for intermediate and college students. Regular college students will enroll from September 3. On September 5, the school will organize for staff and lecturers to attend the online opening ceremony with the Ministry of Education and Training. The opening ceremony for students is expected to be held in October, combined with the awarding of scholarships at the beginning of the year to students.

In September, Dong Nai Technical College will also organize many activities such as: Support to school, Board decoration contest with the theme of Pride of Vietnam, Student Melody contest with the theme of Youth Aspiration - Youth Beauty.

Continue recruiting and welcoming new students

Dong Nai University has developed and issued a plan to organize the opening ceremony on September 5, and assigned tasks to departments.

Vice Principal in charge of Dong Nai University Dang Anh Tuan said: On the morning of September 3, the school's leaders held a meeting to review preparations for the opening ceremony to take place solemnly and successfully.

Because Dong Nai University is currently in the enrollment phase and is expected to start enrolling new students on September 8, the opening ceremony this year will lack new students. Instead, the school will organize a welcoming event for new students after they complete their enrollment procedures.

Vice Principal of Lac Hong University, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Vu Quynh said: The school has a plan to open on October 30, at Buu Long Tourist Area (Tran Bien Ward). Following the direction of the Ministry of Education and Training, on September 5, Lac Hong University will organize a bridge for staff and lecturers to participate in the opening ceremony of the Ministry of Education and Training. In addition, the Party Committee, Trade Union, Youth Union and Student Association of the school also launched the online photo contest I love Vietnam - I love Lac Hong.

Principal of Binh Phuoc College HA VAN KIEN said: Due to the characteristics of vocational schools, the majors and courses have different admission times. On the other hand, the school is still continuing to enroll students for the second round, so it has not been able to organize the opening ceremony for the whole school. On September 5, the school still connected online to attend the opening ceremony and celebrate the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Ministry of Education and Training. However, the official opening ceremony of the school will be held on November 20.

In September, Lac Hong University organized the University Introductory Week led by the Student Affairs Department; extracurricular activities organized by the School Youth Union; and soft skills training courses such as: effective university learning methods, skills to adapt to a new environment, and skills to plan study and practice.

After the opening ceremony on September 5, universities and colleges in the province continued to implement the enrollment process according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, and at the same time implemented many activities for new students to create an effective learning, training and integration environment.
