Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Tran Cam Tu said that after the merger, Da Nang will be the city with the largest area among the six cities directly under the Central Government today.
Along with its rich and diverse cultural foundation, tourism infrastructure and services, Da Nang has always received great attention and support from the Central Government, which has issued many specific policies, orientations, mechanisms and strategies.
Specifically, the establishment of the Free Trade Zone, the first economic model of the country, the International Financial Center in Vietnam located in Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang city, along with many other mechanisms and policies... This is the basis and favorable starting conditions for the new Da Nang city after the merger.

Emphasizing today's important event, Mr. Tu requested that Da Nang soon put the 2-level government model into stable and smooth operation, promptly serving the needs of people and businesses.
At the same time, effectively implement the goals and tasks of developing Da Nang city according to the orientation and expectations of the Central Government and the people.
Strive to build Da Nang city into a growth pole of the country with high competitiveness in the Asia-Pacific region, a center of culture, sports, education and training, high-quality healthcare, and an attractive destination in the world.
Da Nang is entering an important transitional period.
"Immediately after this announcement, the Standing Committee of the Da Nang City Party Committee is requested to focus on leading and directing Party committees at all levels, Party organizations and the entire city's political system to urgently, diligently and resolutely put into operation the two-level administrative and government model, ensuring smoothness, efficiency and improving the quality of service to people and businesses" - the Standing Secretariat requested.
According to him, the merger of provinces and cities and the implementation of a two-level local government model demonstrate long-term strategic thinking and vision, opening up new opportunities, new development dynamics, synchronous, sustainable and scientific.
At the same time, the new government organization model is also to be closer to the people, to serve the people better, more effectively and more promptly.
Mr. Tu emphasized that the merger of Da Nang - Quang Nam is not only an administrative event but also a turning point in the regional and national development strategy, and affirmed that Da Nang is entering an important transitional period.
"I deeply believe that with the revolutionary tradition, the will to be self-reliant, self-reliant, dynamic, creative and the aspiration to rise up, the Party Committee, government and people of Da Nang city will unite together, act resolutely, overcome all difficulties and challenges, excellently complete all assigned tasks, and bring our beloved city to new heights," said Mr. Tu.

In addition to continuing to streamline the organizational structure and reorganize the two-level government, Mr. Tu also noted that Da Nang should take advantage of special mechanisms and policies on city construction and development in conjunction with implementing breakthrough resolutions of the Politburo such as Resolution 57, Resolution 59, Resolution 66 and Resolution 68.
