Báo Thanh niênBáo Thanh niên06/06/2023

On June 6, Dr. Truong Ngoc Nha, Head of the Department of Endoscopy of the Xuyen A System, said that after examining and performing all the paraclinical tests, and performing an abdominal CT scan for evaluation, the doctor concluded that the patient had cholecystitis and biliary tract infection due to common bile duct stones. After consulting with related specialists, the treatment plan was to perform endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) to remove stones from the bile duct.
With the consent of the family, the patient was transferred to the operating room. During the endoscopic intervention, the doctors discovered a large moving liver fluke in the patient's bile duct.

The doctor used a tool to remove the fluke from the common bile duct and sent the fluke sample to the laboratory. The patient was advised to continue treatment for liver fluke disease at the hospital in the near future.

According to Dr. Truong Ngoc Nha, to prevent liver fluke and other parasitic diseases, doctors recommend that people should eat cooked food, drink boiled water, and avoid eating unprocessed fresh foods. The whole family needs to be dewormed every 6 months. Limit eating raw vegetables, only eat when buying from a safe place and washing vegetables properly. It is necessary to increase environmental sanitation and keep the living space clean.
