Joy multiplied

One day in early July, we followed Major Tran Anh Nam - Political Commissar of Infantry Battalion 460, Infantry Regiment 974, Military Command (CHQS) to Suoi Dau and Khanh Vinh communes to encourage officers and soldiers of the unit who were directly on Provincial duty to build houses for their comrades and families of policy beneficiaries. In the hot summer afternoon sun, more than 20 officers and soldiers were still diligently building 2 houses. Of which, 1 house was built by a comrade as a gift for the family of professional soldier Captain Tong Thanh Tam (military intelligence officer, Defense Command of Region 3) in Suoi Dau commune and 1 house of gratitude was given to the family of Ms. Vo Thi Loi (67 years old, in Khanh Vinh commune).

Captain Tong Thanh Tam's comrades' house is in the final stages of completion. Captain Tam emotionally shared: "My family is truly grateful for the attention of the Provincial Military Command and the unit. Every day, witnessing my comrades holding trowels, carrying bricks, and pouring concrete for my house, I am deeply moved by the deep affection my comrades have for my family."

The house is not only a place to shelter from the sun and rain, but also a symbol of faith, hope and change. For families receiving housing support, it is an important milestone, a turning point from hardship to a stable life. Looking at the house of gratitude gradually taking shape thanks to the hands, strength and responsibility of the officers and soldiers, Ms. Vo Thi Loi happily said: "Hearing the soldiers say that the house will be completed before the upcoming War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27), I am very happy and moved. I never thought that in my old age I would one day be able to live in a solid house like this. I don't know what to say other than two words of gratitude!"

Mr. Tran Phuc Son (Thuan Nam commune) is one of 7 poor households in the province to receive a solid house built by the Provincial Military Command before the Lunar New Year 2025. Until now, Mr. Son still has the same feeling of great joy: “This is the biggest gift my family has ever received. Since having a new house, my family's living conditions have been guaranteed, and there is no longer the anxiety and uncertainty when the rainy and stormy season comes like before. My family is very grateful to the officers and soldiers!”

Regardless of the weather, the young soldiers still enthusiastically built brick by brick to build solid homes for their comrades and the people. Soldier Nguyen Huu Huyet expressed his joy when contributing to building a warm house of military-civilian affection: "We are very happy to contribute a small part to help families in difficult circumstances have a decent home."

Building comrades' houses, gratitude houses, and great solidarity houses is not only a social security activity, but also a vivid expression of the military-civilian relationship, a testament to the tradition of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" serving the people. In recent times, implementing the Party's guidelines and the State's policies, the Provincial Military Command has effectively led and directed the work of supporting housing for officers, soldiers and people in difficult circumstances in the area, contributing to building a solid people's heart from loving homes. In recent years, the Provincial Military Command has directed its affiliated agencies and units to conduct field surveys and select the right subjects in need of support, ensuring publicity and transparency. In particular, priority is given to cases of active soldiers facing housing difficulties, relatives of martyrs, families with preferential policies, poor household items, lonely elderly people, people with meritorious services to the revolution, etc. Along with the allocated defense budget, the Provincial Military Command has proactively and flexibly utilized socialized resources, enlisting the support of agencies, businesses, philanthropists and the support of officers and soldiers in the entire force.
