After Vinh airport officially suspended operations from July 1, vehicles, machinery, and human resources were mobilized to the maximum to upgrade the airport infrastructure synchronously, striving to welcome passengers back by the end of 2025.

Photo: QA It is known that the Vinh International Airport upgrade project has a total investment of nearly 1,000 billion VND, invested by Vietnam Airports Corporation - ACV. The project includes three main items: Repairing the runway and two taxiways, expanding the aircraft parking lot, and renovating and expanding the domestic passenger terminal. According to the contract, the project will be completed by December 31, 2025, however, we are determined to exceed the schedule, serving the people and tourists as soon as possible". The total investment for this item is 68.36 billion VND. After completion, the service capacity of Vinh airport will reach 3 to 3.5 million passengers/year by 2030. Photo: QA It is known that Vinh airport was put into operation at the end of 2003, with a designed capacity of 2.75 million passengers/year, currently having 21-26 flights per day. In July 2023, the airport had to stop operating for nearly 16 hours due to runway damage.
