The Binh Lieu Commune Arts Club was established in 2018 with 54 members who love Then singing and Tinh lute and want to spread traditional cultural heritage in the community, enriching the spiritual life of the people. Up to now, the club has over 200 members, maintaining practice on weekends at the cultural house.
During its operation, the Club has always been conscious of preserving and maintaining the ancient Then culture of the Tay ethnic group in Binh Lieu; collecting and practicing many rituals, ancient Then songs to pray for blessings, pray for crops, ancient Then dance, and Chau Then dance; regularly organizing classes to teach Then singing and Tinh lute to children and those who are passionate about this art form.
Ms. Ly Thi Hoa, Club President, shared: Since I was 13 years old, I started learning Then singing, Tinh lute and have become more and more passionate about the traditional art form of my people. Then singing has been recognized by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity. I hope that the unique cultural features of my people will be known by many people and be of interest to young people. Through the performances of the Club at festivals, performances, and exchanges of Vietnamese culture, I hope to spread the values of traditional culture to people and tourists.
Operating from the end of 2024, the San Diu Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village (Vong Tre village, Van Don special zone) is a place to display the cultural heritage of the San Diu people, from men's and women's costumes to wedding ceremonies, ancestor worship, housing, production tools, etc.
Ms. Truong Thi Luu, Party Cell Secretary, Head of Vong Tre Village, said: San Diu Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village has helped artisans in the village spread the Soong Co singing tune, traditional costumes and wedding rituals of the San Diu people, contributing to preserving and conserving cultural heritage, helping the younger generation better understand the origin and national identity, thereby fostering pride and raising the sense of responsibility of each person and the community in preserving and maintaining heritage.
Quang Ninh currently has 641 relics and 382 intangible cultural heritages. To preserve and promote heritages in socio -economic development, the province has developed mechanisms and policies on research, restoration, conservation, recovery and promotion of cultural values and sports in ethnic minority areas; maintaining and organizing meaningful and attractive cultural activities, such as the Cultural and Sports Festival of the Tay, Dao, San Chi ethnic groups, the Cultural and Sports Festival of the Northeast ethnic groups, the Provincial Cultural and Sports Festival with unique and typical cultural and tourism products, such as: San Chi ethnic women's football in Binh Lieu commune; Chicken King Contest in Tien Yen commune; Street Food Festival; Street Art Festival...
The province focuses on preserving and promoting the value of historical and cultural relics, revolutionary relics, and scenic spots; preserving traditional villages through the construction of cultural villages of the Tay, San Chi, and Dao ethnic groups; raising awareness and responsibility among people to preserve traditional costumes, traditional production tools, musical instruments, and instruments that are still preserved and used in daily life.
The province encourages local people to participate in preserving and exploiting heritage through homestay models, community tourism services, OCOP sales, traditional festival performances... Thereby improving the material and spiritual life of the people.
