The Galaxy S25 Ultra's 200MP camera system is one of the highlights of the product, but reports indicate that a flickering bug in the ultra-wide lens has annoyed many owners. According to the report, the problem has appeared since the beginning of this year but became more serious after the One UI 7 update in June (firmware version G928U1UEU2BXF7).

A video shared on social media X by @Samoneui8 shows the flickering phenomenon, which causes both photos and videos to appear blurry. Many users also reported hearing a slight clicking sound when the problem occurs, according to discussions on Reddit and Samsung's official forums.
Hardware fault of Galaxy S25 Ultra?
While this issue is not widespread, it is not unique to the Galaxy S25 series, but some older models, including the Galaxy S24 Ultra, are also affected. So far, basic fixes like clearing the camera app cache, restarting the device, or performing a factory reset have not resolved the issue, suggesting that this could be a hardware-related issue rather than a software one.
Samsung hasn't publicly acknowledged the issue, but some users have received replacement camera modules under warranty, suggesting the company is offering repairs as needed. According to reports, the focus motor in the ultra-wide lens could be the cause of the flickering, especially since it doesn't have optical image stabilization (OIS). Samsung's support team also suggested that indoor lighting could be causing the flickering on the screen, but that doesn't explain the physical shaking that occurs with the lens.

The June update reportedly not only brings smoother animations but also adds new AI features, but the fact that most Galaxy S25 Ultra users aren't experiencing any issues suggests the update isn't the only culprit.
If you’re experiencing this issue, head to a Samsung service center to see if your device is eligible for a hardware repair under warranty. The flickering appears to be limited to a small number of devices, but as more users come forward, it’s unclear if Samsung plans to officially address the issue.
