Connect with experts, find solutions to apply AI in healthcare

The application of technology and AI in the medical field requires a change in research thinking, resource linkage, and competition in research to find new methods and new technologies. Thereby, promoting smart hospital utilities, technology application solutions in medicine, public health care, etc.

Recently, the Department of Science and Technology and the Department of Health had a working session with Ho Chi Minh City National University (HCMC) and several major hospitals in the area to listen to experts and scientists from Ho Chi Minh City National University advise on proposals for ordering provincial-level science and technology tasks in the health sector in 2025. In which, the relevant parties discussed the application of AI in the health sector and people's health care.

At the meeting, leaders of the Departments of Science and Technology and Health said that the application of high technology, AI, research, and implementation of scientific and technological tasks in the health sector must come from the actual needs of Dong Nai. The selection and determination of scientific topics for research and transfer must ensure focus, efficiency, and meet the needs of the locality.

Deputy Director of the Department of Health Nguyen Van Binh said that the health sector aims to develop technology application solutions, implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo in the health sector in the province. In order for scientific and technological topics and tasks in the health sector to be effectively implemented, relevant units need to identify "core" and focus issues, meeting the needs of the locality. Hospitals in the province need to "order", listen to advice, and discuss with experts on the application of technology, AI in medical examination, treatment, and imaging diagnosis... specifically based on the needs and actual conditions of the unit.

Director of the Department of Science and Technology Ta Quang Truong shared that relevant parties need to pay attention to the issue of data connection, as well as build a co-chairing mechanism for appropriate research, transfer and application. Localities need to benefit from the values ​​that scientific and technological topics and tasks bring during the research and transfer process.

For local topics "ordered" from Ho Chi Minh City National University, units and hospitals together with Ho Chi Minh City National University and related departments and branches need to have discussions and research carefully to determine the specific scope and content of the topic to ensure feasibility, suitability with the actual needs and application conditions of the unit, hospital, and locality in need...

In recent times, major hospitals in the province have collaborated with technology units and major banks to deploy many digital payment services and digital medical kiosks. At the same time, they have regularly upgraded and expanded utilities related to digital health.

In addition, many telecommunications enterprises in the province have increased the deployment of 5G solutions for industries, from manufacturing, logistics to healthcare and education, to improve productivity, remote management and integrate AI technologies into operational processes...

Deploying platforms to serve digital society

Dong Nai is increasingly interested in and focusing on developing digital social utilities, especially digital solutions for healthcare, education, administrative reform, etc. The province is increasingly interested in implementing digital payment solutions, promoting non-cash payment channels when paying fees and charges for administrative procedures.

A representative of VNPT Dong Nai said that recently, the unit has coordinated with the Department of Science and Technology to deploy a dynamic QR code solution when making payments for administrative fees and charges at the Provincial Public Administration Service Center. In the coming time, VNPT Dong Nai will continue to coordinate with departments, branches and localities that collect fees in the settlement of administrative procedures to install dynamic QR code display devices. At the same time, the unit will evaluate the effectiveness and stability, then fine-tune and upgrade to be able to effectively replicate the digital payment solution.

In early June 2025, the Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 1794/QD-UBND announcing 14 administrative procedures and 25 pilot locations for the Online Public Service Support Point model in the province. The pilot locations for this model include: Mobifone Dong Nai stores (3 locations); VNPT Dong Nai sales and transaction offices (5 locations); post office system, commune cultural post offices under the Provincial Post Office (17 locations).

Deputy Director of the Provincial Post Office Duong Thi Viet Huong said that in order to prepare for the implementation of online public service model support points, serving people in performing administrative procedures as instructed by departments, branches and the Provincial Police, the Provincial Post Office will coordinate with departments, branches and press agencies in the area to promote propaganda to people and businesses about these support points. At the same time, review the support points operated by the Provincial Post Office to ensure the conditions of transaction premises, the transmission system of the transaction points will be connected and upgraded at high speed. The Provincial Post Office will also arrange staff who are knowledgeable about online public services according to regulations, regularly update new knowledge for staff at the points in the process of supporting people in performing online public services...
