Traditional craft villages have long been a distinctive feature in the diverse cultural picture of Vietnam. Not only bringing economic value, craft villages are also places to preserve cultural quintessence, skills and secrets passed down from generation to generation over hundreds of years of history.

The photo work about workers in traditional craft villages was submitted to the "Happy Vietnam 2025" Award , as a tribute to the artisans and also a call to preserve traditional values ​​so that they do not fade away in the hustle and bustle of modern life.

Through each photo, each author not only captures visual beauty but also evokes empathy and connection. It is a profound gratitude to Vietnamese heritage, the voice of a child living far away from home returning to tell the story of the country with a gaze filled with love and a spirit of preservation, with the author's desire to spread Vietnamese beauty closer to the world .

Submitting the photo work "Paper flower making craft in Thanh Thien village, Phu Vang, Hue city" to participate in the "Happy Vietnam 2025" Award, author Trung Thanh Nguyen introduced the paper flower making craft in Thanh Thien village (Thua Thien Hue) as one of the famous traditional craft villages of the ancient capital of Hue.

The craft of making paper flowers has a long history, closely associated with the spiritual life and traditional culture of the people. From the skillful and talented hands of the gentle farmers. The people here still pass down the folk song: "Green green red red yellow yellow/Every December the whole village makes flowers". Anyone can become an artisan, but each year they only become artisans in December. The flowers they make are fresh all year round, spanning all four seasons: spring, summer, autumn and winter.

Te Tieu village is located in Dai Nghia town, My Duc district, Hanoi, famous for its traditional puppetry art. It is known that Te Tieu puppetry has existed for more than 400 years. This art is expressed through the creation of sophisticated wooden puppets and the performance of unique plays, operas, and dramas. This type of theater specializes in performing ancient plays, combining rope climbing and magic tricks, so it has been loved by the people for a long time. Through the ups and downs of history, this type of folk theater seemed to have been forgotten and lost, however, around the 1990s, Te Tieu village's puppetry craft was revived thanks to the efforts and determination of a number of artisans such as: Meritorious artisans Pham Cong Bang, Le Dang Nhuong, Pham Van Be...

The art of puppetry was submitted to the contest by author Nguyen Thi Ly Giang with the work “ I love puppets ”. The work preserves the image of Meritorious Artist Pham Cong Bang and children creating puppets, aiming to spread the love for Te Tieu dry puppetry.

Vietnamese cuisine has a special gift, that is Ban village's soybean paste, famous far and wide for its delicious flavor. The shimmering dipping sauce imbued with the taste of the homeland was once confided in the folk song: "Com Vong, Me Tri jasmine rice/Tuong Ban, Lang basil, what could be more delicious!". Author Hung Nguyen submitted to the Award with the work " Making traditional soybean paste ". The image records the mold drying union, one of the important steps to create the traditional soybean paste product of the people of Ban village, Hung Yen.

When the sun rises, the villagers of Ban village open the jars again, their hands quickly stirring, creating a fragrant aroma wafting from the yard to the alley, making anyone who visits the village crave to enjoy a tray of rustic rice with a bowl of Ban soy sauce.

The fishing industry at Ninh Thuan fishing port is very busy, the main source of livelihood for many fishermen and local people. Ninh Thuan fishing port is not only a place for seafood trading but also a center of the region's marine culture. Here, for generations, Ninh Thuan fishermen have caught a variety of seafood such as anchovies, mackerel, tuna, mullet, sailfish, squid, shrimp, crab, and other seafood with high economic value. The fishing port is where seafood is bought and sold between fishermen and traders, then the seafood is distributed to markets, restaurants, and other localities. Ninh Thuan fishing port, especially Dong Hai fishing port, attracts tourists to visit, shop for fresh seafood and experience the bustling atmosphere of the fish market.

Author sangnvl submitted the work " Working Together " to the Award, depicting the image of each person doing a job while working at Ninh Thuan fishing port, to together promote the cultural values ​​of the sea, a symbol of fishermen's lives and coastal culture.

It can be seen that photography is not simply an art form, but also a way of telling stories, touching the soul and evoking national cultural memories. Through each frame, each author wants to convey pride and love for the land and people of Vietnam, contributing to preserving the traditional beauty that is gradually fading in the flow of modernity. It is a journey of the heart, of art and of the aspiration to spread the beauty of a happy Vietnam closer to the world.

We invite readers and photographers at home and abroad to continue sending photos and videos to the "Happy Vietnam 2025" Award. The award is organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in collaboration with the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists and Vietnam Television. Through this, we aim to continue introducing and promoting the image of the country, the Vietnamese people, cultural and natural values ​​throughout the country; arouse national pride and aspirations for development among all classes of Vietnamese people to join hands in building an increasingly prosperous, prosperous and happy Vietnam.

Contestants: Vietnamese citizens and foreigners aged 15 and over

The award consists of two categories: Photo and Video.

Each contest category (photo and video) will have one First Prize worth 50,000,000 VND, two Second Prizes worth 30,000,000 VND, three Third Prizes worth 15,000,000 VND, 10 Encouragement Prizes worth 5,000,000 VND, one Most Voted Work Prize worth 5,000,000 VND.

The Organizing Committee encourages and will award a creative prize in each category (photo and video) worth 20,000,000 VND for works with new ideas, creativity in content and form of expression.

In addition, the Organizing Committee will award monthly prizes including First, Second, and Third prizes to the highest voted works of the month in each category.

The Jury will select the award through two rounds of Preliminary and Final, both online and in person.
