Over the years, the Coal Industry Group - Vietnam Minerals Corporation (TKV), TKV Trade Union and member units have implemented many practical activities, spreading the humanitarian spirit of "leaving no one behind", taking good care of workers in difficult circumstances. From savings books to union shelters ... , all contain a sharing full of humanity.
One of the typical models is the savings book giving program at Nam Mau Coal Company. In just one afternoon, 43 savings books worth 10 million VND each were handed out to workers in difficult circumstances. In ten years of continuous, uninterrupted activities, this activity has not only provided material support, but also a great spiritual gift. Each book is a testament to the companionship and care from the Company's leaders to each worker.
“I was really touched when I received the savings book. It felt like I had more motivation to firmly overcome the ups and downs in life. Here, we are not alone,” said Nguyen Duc. Wind, Workers of Mining Workshop 1, Nam Mau Coal Company shared after receiving savings books from the program.
Mr. Phong had a domestic accident at the beginning of this year and had to take many days off for treatment, affecting his ability to work. His wife does not have a stable job, and he is the main breadwinner for his elderly parents and two young children. The tiled roof house is dilapidated, and the situation is difficult.
Not only stopping at emergency support, the Coal industry also builds long-term models such as "Union Shelter". Recently, the Mao Khe Coal Company Union organized a handover of funding to support the construction of a house for the family of Mr. Nguyen Huu Vu, a worker at the Transport Workshop 1. With 22 years of working in the mine, and many health problems, Mr. Vu's life has encountered many difficulties. His family lives with his grandmother, the house is cramped and dilapidated. In that situation, the timely support from the TKV Union (80 million VND), Mao Khe Coal Company (30 million VND) helped his family build a solid, sturdy shelter with an area of 85m².
Sharing about the affection he received, Mr. Nguyen Huu Vu was moved: “The new house is not only a place to live, but also a place where my children and I can gain more confidence. I am grateful to the TKV Trade Union and the Company's leaders for caring for workers like me - people who are no longer as healthy as before, but are still devoted to their profession.”
Such practical concern does not stop at a few units. In most units of the Coal Industry, models of caring for miners' lives are maintained and expanded. The programs "Miners' Tet", "Workers' Month", activities to visit workers in difficulty, emergency support for workers with work-related accidents... have become a solid spiritual support for thousands of workers' families.
In addition, TKV Trade Union regularly conducts surveys on the actual situation of workers to promptly propose appropriate forms of support. In addition to giving money, many trade union officials also directly visit workers' homes to encourage and help them overcome difficult times and illnesses.
The spirit of “helping each other” has also been strongly spread by the workers themselves. In many workshops, the models of “mutual savings groups”, “charity rice jars”… have contributed to further uniting the collective of workers.
The synchronous and responsible participation of trade unions at all levels and business leaders has helped many miners overcome difficult circumstances and continue to work and produce with peace of mind. New houses, timely support, and practical programs have all created a humane working environment where workers are taken care of comprehensively, both physically and mentally.
Imbued with the tradition of “Discipline and Unity”, today’s miners are not only the production pillars of the Coal industry but also the symbol of solidarity, affection and sharing. On the journey of sustainable development, each program to support workers is a vivid demonstration of the cultural identity of affection, fostering the sustainable development journey of the Coal industry.
