Not fussy or ostentatious, this series of ao dai retains the traditional shape, using colors such as purple, brown, black... to help highlight the nobility and power of the wearer. Not stopping there, designer Dang Trong Minh Chau also cleverly combined the image of a graceful ao ba ba with a body-hugging form, showing a very Vietnamese image through simple poses that easily "touch" the emotions of artist Hong Dao.

The fashion house said that when taking the photo series, he did not choose an outdoor setting but just a simple frame to focus on highlighting the charming, rustic but also very noble features of artist Hong Dao.
With the Ao Ba Ba, Dang Trong Minh Chau chose red, black, and pink with a tight-fitting design that accentuated the slim figure of artist Hong Dao. In addition, he brought images of night-blooming cereus, chrysanthemums, lilies, etc. with the desire to bring a more luxurious and eye-catching outfit to the viewer.
For the ao dai, designer Dang Trong Minh Chau chose a smooth, stretchy fabric with a tight-fitting shape to help the wearer look elegant and luxurious. The fashion house also cleverly chose elegant colors, suitable for mothers-in-law or for ladies who do not like fussiness when attending parties. In addition, the fashion house innovated with ao dai in pink and red tones with chrysanthemum and peach blossom motifs... painted and attached... to help the design become more solemn.
The highlight of the collection is the black ao dai hand-embroidered with shiny thread, the embroidery shows the sophistication and ingenuity of skilled craftsmen.
Designer Minh Chau said the photo series was based on the true spirit and personality of artist Hong Dao - the simpler the better. "Hong Dao has a calmness, so I had to choose a design that blends that. For a middle-aged person, having a figure like her is a dream," he said. Through this, the designer wants to send a message that at any age, everyone has their own beauty and charm, the important thing is to be confident and learn to love yourself more.
Sharing his experience working with artist Hong Dao, Dang Trong Minh Chau said that his senior was a serious, quiet and difficult person. That was in contrast to the image of an actor, so when choosing costumes, the designer had to find a way to balance these two factors.
“I have to choose clothes that make her feel secure when taking pictures. Besides, I also require professionalism from the crew, the images must also be neat, exactly what she needs. When she puts her trust in me, I feel I have to be responsible to create a comfortable photo shoot.”
Not only are they partners in the process of making the photo series, artist Hong Dao is also an idol for designer Minh Chau. Since childhood, he had the opportunity to follow and be impressed by the charm of his senior on the small screen.
"Her comedy shows filled my childhood. Now that she has returned to Vietnam to act in films, I am even more impressed by the talent of an artist who is dedicated to her profession. This is the second photo series I have had the opportunity to work with her. She is very cute because she calls me "child" and addresses herself as "mother". She and People's Artist Hong Van are close friends that I admire," he said.
