After the storm, along many streets in Vinh City, a series of electric poles and telecommunication poles were broken, cables fell onto the road, and many broadcasting stations lost power. In Truong Vinh, Thanh Vinh, Vinh Phu wards... mobile phone signals were unstable, 4G - 5G and Wifi were interrupted, causing difficulties in daily life.

Mr. Phan Van Thong (Truong Vinh ward) shared: "Continuous power outages and unstable network connections have disrupted communication with relatives and online work, greatly affecting daily life."

Faced with this situation, telecommunications companies have made every effort to fix the problem. Viettel Nghe An deployed more than 700 technicians, 60 mobile teams, 15 generator repair teams from supporting provinces, along with 4 advance teams in coastal localities. This unit also arranged 75 generators, more than 200 km of backup fiber optic cables, reinforced coastal stations, etc.

As of August 28, Viettel Nghe An reported that the entire province no longer had "no signal" communes, although there were still interruptions due to power outages.

Mr. Dinh Nho Thuan - Director of VNPT VinaPhone Nghe An Business Center said: "By August 28, we had controlled 100% of the signal area. Technical staff worked day and night to rebuild poles, pull cables, and add generators. In particular, the VinaPhone network also supports roaming for hundreds of thousands of other network subscribers to maintain communication."

Mobifone Nghe An also established many rescue teams. Mr. Vu Hong Chung - Deputy Director of Mobifone Nghe An emphasized: "We closely coordinate with the electricity industry and functional units to quickly handle power outages, ensuring that communications are restored as soon as possible."

At the same time, businesses must flexibly share resources, support each other with fuel, technical equipment, and generators to maintain the operation of the broadcasting station. Roaming is also widely deployed, helping people proactively connect in weak signal conditions.

In the context of increasingly complex natural disasters, maintaining communication is not only an effort of the telecommunications industry but also requires initiative from the people. When the signal is weak, users can turn on roaming mode to connect to other networks, use backup chargers, save battery during power outages and proactively find public places that support charging devices, contact the nearest network service centers for support.
