The resting place of the two brothers Diogo Jota - Andre Silva
The funeral of Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva was held at the Igreja Matriz church in Gondomar, where the two brothers grew up and spent their childhood together.
Gondomar is not only Jota's hometown, but also the place where he and his wife share their love. It was at Gondomar High School that he met Rute, his future wife. The two fell in love while still students, and Rute has been a strong support for Jota throughout his career.
The two brothers will remain in their homeland Gondomar.
Gondomar is also where Diogo Jota founded his football academy with the slogan “It doesn't matter where we come from, it matters where we go”. Diogo Jota founded this academy in 2022, to create conditions for children aged 6-9 to develop their football talents at Gondomar Football Club, where he played for 10 years as a teenager.
After the funeral at noon on July 5, the two brothers will be buried in the local cemetery, where they will forever remain in the heart of their homeland.
Farewell Diogo Jota and Andre Silva.
