On the morning of December 6, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism held the opening ceremony of the "Reading Culture Festival 2023 - Southeast and South Central Region Library Association".

This year's Reading Culture Festival has the theme "Books for me, for you", taking place at Binh Thuan Library, which is a useful and healthy playground for readers of all ages. It includes sightseeing and discussions on scientific and effective reading methods; developing a reading culture; interacting with guests; quizzes on the topics "Traffic safety for students", "Anti-school violence"; emotional quotient test; presentation on STEM programs in current education; fun science activities; introducing works. In addition, multimedia mobile library vehicles of the provinces will organize exhibitions, introduce books, newspapers, magazines and serve readers on-site; and serve at some schools in Phan Thiet city and neighboring districts.

Mr. Vo Thanh Huy, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said: In life, books are a treasure trove of knowledge, a spiritual cultural product that plays a very important role. "Books are teachers", teaching us how to live, how to be human, towards noble human values. Books are like close friends. Reading has long become an essential need of every person. Regardless of the era, people consider learning and reading books as one of the ways to improve their own knowledge, personal progress in life and contribute to social development.

The program "Vietnam Reading Culture Festival 2023" takes place from December 6 to 8, with the participation of libraries in Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc, Dong Nai, Lam Dong, Ninh Thuan, Tay Ninh, Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Thuan provinces, contributing to promoting reading culture, making the reading movement a habit, a cultural beauty among all cadres, civil servants, students and people. Aiming to improve the intellectual level of the people, develop knowledge, skills and creative thinking, educate and train human personality and so that the "flow of reading culture" is always open, continued and constantly developed.
