From this morning (July 1), after a trial period, all wards and communes in the old Quang Nam province, now part of the new Da Nang city, officially operate a 2-level local government.

According to Thanh Nien reporters, at the Tam Ky Ward Public Administration Center (old address of the old Tam Ky City Public Administration Center, No. 159 Trung Nu Vuong), the commune-level government has just arranged 9 staff to serve the first citizens coming to do the procedures.

On the first day of implementing the 2-level local government model, the number of people coming to do procedures at the Tam Ky Ward Public Administration Center was quite large.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hien (73 years old, in Tam Ky Ward) said that she was present at the Tam Ky Ward Public Administration Center very early to make a certificate of subsidy for the elderly.

"I thought I would have to wait as long as before, but no, as soon as I entered the door, an officer came to ask and give me very specific instructions, thanks to which my procedures were done very quickly. Instead of taking an hour like before, now it only takes 15 minutes to complete all the procedures. I find it much simpler and faster than before. I am really satisfied with the new government," Ms. Hien expressed.

At the Quang Phu Ward Public Administration Center, Ms. Nguyen Thi Lam (57 years old, living in Phu Binh village, Quang Phu Ward) came early this morning to complete personal paperwork. Arriving at the center at 7:15 a.m., she was welcomed by the staff at the ward's one-stop shop and guided through the paperwork very quickly. "The work was quickly resolved by the staff, and we, the people, are satisfied," Ms. Lam said.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Nam, Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Phu Ward, said that currently, due to inadequate infrastructure conditions, the locality has determined to try its best to serve the people in the best possible way. "We are determined to serve as best as possible, right from the first moments when the two-level government officially comes into operation," said Mr. Nguyen Minh Nam.
