Immediately afterwards, tomorrow afternoon, July 4, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training plans to announce the test scores of candidates and the admission scores for grade 10 of each public high school.
Announcing exam scores at the same time as the 10th grade admission score is a big change, because in previous years Hanoi often announced exam scores before announcing the admission score.
The way to calculate the standard score for non-specialized high school entrance exams this year has also been significantly adjusted, in which the scores for math, literature, and foreign languages are all calculated with a coefficient of 1, not multiplied by the coefficient for literature and math like previous years.
For candidates applying to grade 10 of specialized high schools, in addition to the 3 compulsory exams above, candidates will take additional exams in specialized subjects, with the specialized subject exam score having a coefficient of 2.
Regarding the prediction of the benchmark score, some opinions say that this year's exam is closer and "easier" so the benchmark score may increase slightly. In addition, the calculation of foreign language scores on par with the other two subjects may increase the benchmark score at top schools because this is a strong subject for students in inner-city areas.
Meanwhile, the opinion of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training and high school principals is that the benchmark score depends partly on the difficulty of the exam, the teaching quality of each "batch" of junior high school graduates, and the quota and "competition ratio" of each school each year...
Candidates can look up exam scores and admission scores for grade 10 on the Hanoi Department of Education and Training's Electronic Information Portal (https://hanoi.edu.vn) and the city's Primary School Admissions Information Portal (https://tsdaucap.hanoi.gov.vn).
The entrance exam for grade 10 of public high schools in Hanoi for the 2025-2026 school year took place on June 7 and 8 with nearly 103,000 candidates taking the exam. Candidates applying for grade 10 of public high schools will take 3 exams, including literature, foreign language and math.
