After merging the three provinces of Phu Tho, Vinh Phuc, and Hoa Binh , the educational scale of the new Phu Tho province is among the largest in the country. The whole province has 1,957 educational institutions with nearly 1 million students, ranking 3rd out of 34 provinces and cities in terms of school size and staff. The total number of cadres, teachers, and employees is 60,866 people. Phu Tho province still lacks 2,473 teachers.
Director of the Department of Education and Training Trinh The Truyen informed: Entering the 2025-2026 school year, the education and training sector of Phu Tho has synchronously prepared facilities, human resources and management plans in the context of local government operating under a two-tier model.
Although the workload of the Department and principals has increased significantly, the two-tier model has initially shown its effectiveness: the apparatus is more compact, the intermediate levels are shortened, and the autonomy and responsibility of educational institutions are enhanced. This is both a challenge and an opportunity for the provincial education sector to affirm its management capacity in the new period.

Based on the achievements and new context, Phu Tho education sector has identified many key tasks for the 2025-2026 school year. These are to continue implementing the 2018 General Education Program on schedule, improving the quality of teaching foreign languages, information technology, STEM; paying special attention to inclusive education.
Increase investment in infrastructure, especially in disadvantaged areas, mountainous areas, and ethnic minority areas. Promote digital transformation in management and teaching. Improve the effectiveness of quality management, organize excellent student exams, graduation exams, quality assessment, and publicize serious and transparent education.
Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Khac Hieu emphasized: The 2025-2026 school year takes place in the context of many important events of the country and is the first year that the education and training sector of Phu Tho province implements breakthrough tasks according to the two-level local government model, after the arrangement of provincial-level administrative units.
This is a great opportunity but also full of challenges, requiring strong innovation in management thinking, adapting to integration trends, digital transformation; continuing to maintain the province's education in the top 5 leading provinces in the country.

He suggested that the education and training sector should focus on immediately implementing the direction of the Provincial Party Standing Committee; build and complete the Education and Training Development Project to 2030, with a vision to 2045; in 2025; focus on three breakthroughs: Digital transformation; improving foreign languages and information technology; training high-quality human resources.
Mobilize and effectively use all resources to maintain and increase the rate of schools meeting national standards; prioritize investment in disadvantaged areas and ethnic minority areas; promote the movement to encourage learning and talent, build a learning society, and ensure equity in education.
At the conference, leaders of the Department of Education and Training of Phu Tho answered recommendations, difficulties and problems from localities and facilities in each field.
Leaders of the Provincial People's Committee and the Department of Education and Training awarded students with achievements in the 2025 High School Graduation Exam.
