The initial cause was determined to be the impact of natural disasters and prolonged heavy rains in recent days. Immediately after discovering the incident, local authorities issued a notice restricting people and vehicles from passing through the area. The collapsed dike surface was covered with a 70m long tarpaulin and covered with sandbags to prevent spreading and protect the surface structure.
Currently, local authorities have set up checkpoints at both ends of the dike, diverting traffic and guiding people to take alternative routes. At the same time, the People's Committee of Da Phuc commune has directed functional units to closely monitor the flood situation, update incident developments to promptly report and handle when necessary. Plans for materials, human resources and vehicles have also been prepared to respond to any situations that may arise in the area.

The Cau Right Dike is an important dike in the natural disaster prevention and control system of Hanoi, playing a role in protecting the safety of residential areas and agricultural production in many riverside communes. Therefore, on the same day, a working group from the Hanoi Management Board for Maintenance of Agricultural and Environmental Works directly inspected the subsidence on the Cau Right Dike to plan for maintenance and complete repair of the affected dike section.
