Mbeumo is disappointed that MU is not decisive in recruiting him. |
According to Mirror, the French striker of Cameroonian origin expressed his desire to leave Brentford to join the "Red Devils" as early as June, after the Old Trafford team completed the £62.5 million deal for Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton.
However, two offers from Man Utd have been rejected, the most recent of which was worth £55m plus £7.5m in add-ons. Brentford have stuck to their asking price of £70m, arguing that this is reasonable when compared to recent deals such as Noni Madueke (£50m) or Anthony Elanga (£55m).
The Evening Standard also stressed that Brentford wanted a higher figure than what Man United paid for Cunha.
With United struggling financially, having struggled to sell players like Antony, Sancho or Rashford, the club are reluctant to make a third offer. Meanwhile, Brentford are preparing to return to pre-season training and Mbeumo could be forced to stay if negotiations do not improve.
Sporting director Phil Giles has confirmed Brentford are willing to keep hold of Mbeumo, who is contracted until 2026 with the option of a further 12 months. However, the 25-year-old is determined to find a new home this summer.
