Lost money due to booking an appointment at a public hospital through a fake website

'Deposit' through an online advertising website to register for an examination at Bach Mai Hospital, when arriving for examination, the patient and family members' names were not on the hospital's reception information system.

Bach Mai Hospital recently received complaints from patients' families about losing money when making an appointment through an online advertisement.

After transferring 600,000 VND in advance, the customer could not contact the "staff" who received the appointment.

According to the feedback, when searching for information online about making an appointment for a medical examination, customers were connected to a website with content about finding help. After entering information into the search box "make an appointment for a medical examination at Bach Mai Hospital", this website displayed the hotline number.

When talking to the "operator" about the need to make an appointment for the child, this customer was instructed to have a staff friend Zalo to send a confirmation message. Next, the customer received a QR code with the account number to request a transfer of the appointment fee of 600,000 VND.

The next day, when taking the child to Bach Mai Hospital for a check-up, because the registered name was not found in the hospital's system, the customer checked the Zalo message and the exchange content had been revoked and could not contact the "staff" who confirmed the appointment.

In addition to being scammed out of the 600,000 VND that was transferred for the appointment, the customer had to pay a call fee of 8,000 VND/minute, 4 times higher than the call center fee charged by Bach Mai Hospital to receive appointment bookings (2,000 VND/minute).

Bach Mai Hospital does not require money transfer before examination

Bach Mai Hospital warns that when searching online, there are many advertisements for websites and call centers that accept appointment registrations. In order to avoid losing money and time due to fraud, people who need to be examined at Bach Mai Hospital as well as other hospitals, should only receive official information from the hospitals to contact.

"It should be noted that Bach Mai Hospital does not require people to transfer money before coming for examination," said a hospital representative.

Currently, to make an appointment at Bach Mai Hospital, you can only call the hotline number: 1900888866, Bach Mai Care software, Fanpage with a blue tick and the hospital's website. Customers can make an appointment 1 day or a month in advance.
