A series of private schools have higher entrance scores for grade 10 than top public schools.

This year's admission season, many private schools in Hanoi have benchmark scores for grade 10 admission equal to, or even higher than, top public schools.

After the Hanoi Department of Education and Training announced the 10th grade entrance exam scores, a series of private schools announced receiving applications and announcing standard scores.

Luong The Vinh Secondary and High School is currently the school with the highest standard score of 24.5 points, applied to both Cau Giay and Tan Trieu campuses. With the calculation of the total score of the three subjects Math, Literature, Foreign Language, candidates must achieve 8.2 points/subject to pass. Compared to 115 public schools, the school's standard score is equivalent to the top 8.

This year, Marie Curie has three benchmark scores of 23, 22 and 21, corresponding to the three campuses My Dinh, Van Phu, Viet Hung. This is the first benchmark score. If there are still vacancies, the school will recruit in the second round with a score 1 point lower. With a benchmark score of 23, Marie Curie can be on par with the top 17 schools in the public group.

This year, Hanoi has 127,000 junior high school graduates, an increase of more than 5,000 compared to last year, of which about 103,000 students registered for the public 10th grade exam.

According to the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, at least 64% of students are enrolled in public schools, while the rest are enrolled in private schools, continuingeducation , and vocational training. The quota for grade 10 in private schools is about 28,000.

If admitted and choose to study at a private school, candidates must confirm and submit their application for admission no later than July 22.
