The surgical team quickly and successfully removed a 1.5cm piece of wood, drained a quantity of pus from the eye socket, and actively treated with antibiotics. The child is now stable.
At Children's Hospital 2, doctors also performed an emergency endoscopy on a 12-month-old patient who had swallowed a safety pin. The treatment team quickly and safely handled the situation, successfully removed the foreign object without causing any harm to the patient.
