What are the chances for the Vietnamese men's volleyball team?
In the first match of Group D yesterday, the Korean team defeated the New Zealand team with a score of 3-0 (28/26, 25/13, 25/22). Therefore, if they can overcome New Zealand in the match taking place at 8:30 p.m. today (Vietnam time), Quan Trong Nghia and his teammates will soon win tickets to the quarterfinals.
In terms of strength, the Vietnamese men's volleyball team is considered to be able to compete fairly with the New Zealand team. Although they are inferior to their opponents in terms of physique, Coach Tran Dinh Tien's students are skillful and have diverse attacks. If they can fully develop their abilities and play explosively, Quan Trong Nghia and his teammates promise to achieve the goal of winning against their opponents.
The 14 Vietnamese men's volleyball players participating in the AVC Nations Cup 2025 include Nguyen Ngoc Thuan, Duong Van Tien, Quan Trong Nghia, Hoang Xuan Truong (attackers); Nguyen Van Quoc Duy, Pham Quoc Du (opposites); Che Quoc Vo Lit, Tran Duy Tuyen, Truong The Khai, Nguyen Thanh Hai (middle blockers); Dinh Van Duy, Phan Cong Duc (setters); Trinh Duy Phuc, Cao Duc Hoang (liberos). The most regrettable absence of the Vietnamese men's volleyball team in this tournament is that captain Pham Van Hiep cannot participate due to injury.
The 2025 AVC Nations Cup Volleyball Tournament will feature 11 teams, divided into 4 groups competing in a round-robin format to select the first and second-placed teams from each group to advance to the quarterfinals. Last season, coach Tran Dinh Tien and his team finished 6th overall. The goal of the Vietnamese men's volleyball team this time is to train and improve in order to have the best squad for the 33rd SEA Games taking place in Thailand this December.
