Every year, from the 9th to the 12th of the first lunar month, the people of Trieu Khuc village (Thanh Tri, Hanoi ) excitedly and eagerly invite each other to watch the traditional festival. The folk festival is one of the most unique cultural features of the village. This is not only an occasion to commemorate the great contributions of Bo Cai Dai Vuong Phung Hung, but also an occasion for the villagers to have fun and celebrate the beginning of the new year. Let's join this festival through the photo series "Bong Dance Festival" by author Nguyen Dang Viet, to understand more about the Festival of Trieu Khuc village which is always organized solemnly, orderly, civilized, creating a joyful atmosphere for participants. The festival is an important and indispensable ritual such as incense offering ceremony, royal procession ceremony, naturalization ceremony, sacrifice ceremony, ... along with many unique folk cultural activities such as dragon dance, lion dance, Bong dance. The photo series was sent by the author to participate in the Photo and Video Contest of Happy Vietnam - Happy Vietnam, organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications .

The most prominent feature of Trieu Khuc village festival is the "prostitute playing the bong" dance performed in front of Thanh Hoang's palanquin.

"Standard" guys suddenly transform into "flirtatious" characters.

To transform into graceful, supple girls, the village boys must wear crow-beak scarves, put on makeup, lipstick, and wear black skirts and colored-tasseled bibs. Bong dance has about 30 movements, with 3 main movements: beating the Bong drum sideways, bending the arms like flowers, and stroking down the drum.

Bong dance creates a joyful atmosphere for Trieu Khuc village festival.

The festival of Trieu Khuc village is always held solemnly, orderly, civilized, creating a joyful atmosphere for the participants. The festival begins with important indispensable rituals such as incense offering ceremony, royal procession ceremony, naturalization ceremony, sacrifice ceremony, ... along with many unique folk cultural activities such as dragon dance, lion dance, and bong dance.

The "prostitute beating the ball" dance is widely popular and supported by the people.

Dragon dance is also an indispensable performance in village festivals.

After the ceremony, Trieu Khuc villagers also organized many folk games such as cockfighting, chess, wrestling, blindfolded pot smashing, soccer, shuttlecock, badminton, chess, bonsai display,... along with many art programs performed by the commune's art troupe.
