At the meeting, the Can Tho City National Assembly Delegation reported on the results of the 9th Session of the 15th National Assembly . The National Assembly passed 14 laws and 2 legal resolutions, especially those related to the organization of a 2-level local government model, ensuring a streamlined apparatus and improving management effectiveness and efficiency.
Voters highly appreciated Resolution 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation; at the same time, they proposed that there should be a breakthrough mechanism to attract talents, promote green transformation and digital transformation programs in the Mekong Delta, especially Can Tho City. Many opinions hope that the Government will soon consider and approve the Project to establish Can Tho High-Tech Park and have specific instructions on smart urban development.
At the conference, the Prime Minister requested relevant ministries and branches to directly answer voters’ questions and recommendations. The Prime Minister acknowledged the enthusiastic contributions and emphasized that the recent session was a historic session, with many popular decisions and policies that were approved by voters nationwide.
Assessing the socio-economic situation in the first 6 months of the year, the Prime Minister said that the macro-economy continued to be stable, GDP growth reached 7.52% - the highest in Southeast Asia, inflation was under control. The new Can Tho City after the merger has shown clear determination and efforts.
The Prime Minister emphasized: Can Tho City as well as the Mekong Delta region must operate a two-level local government smoothly. Especially, change the state from passive to proactive in serving the people. Thereby, creating development space, momentum, motivation, and inspiration for the country's development. Focus on completing the socio-economic goals in 2025.
In addition, the Prime Minister also requested that Can Tho City: Urgently launch the Oncology Hospital Project, to be completed in 2026; Effectively implement the Project of 1 million hectares of high-quality, low-emission rice; Do a good job of preparing for Party Congresses at all levels, ensuring social security, leaving no one behind; Mobilize intellectuals and university students to join the "popular digital education" movement, supporting the community in digital transformation.
The Prime Minister also asked localities in the region to coordinate closely, speed up the progress of key projects, and mobilize investment resources to develop the Mekong Delta quickly and sustainably.

Among them are Mr. Pham Minh Chinh, Politburo member, Prime Minister and Mr. Tran Thanh Man, Politburo member, Chairman of the National Assembly; Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh, Deputy Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee, XVth tenure National Assembly deputy, holds the position of Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Can Tho City, XVth tenure.
