Integrate and meet the job requirements
Da Nang City and Quang Nam Province (formerly) are among the localities that have established and maintained close cooperative relationships with Nagasaki in many fields. Therefore, Nagasaki is considered a top destination in Japan for local trainees, especially in the field of nursing and medical care through the “study-work” model with a common working period of 3-5 years.
It has been almost a year since they started working at Kaifu Sou Special Care Center for the Elderly (Saikai City, Nagasaki Prefecture). Tran Thi Thanh Thuy (Hiep Duc Commune) and Tran Phuong Thao (Tam Ky Ward) have gradually overcome cultural and communication barriers. From initial awkwardness and shyness, they have gradually become trustworthy employees, highly appreciated by their colleagues and management.
“At first, I had a lot of difficulty communicating with Japanese people. Japanese was a big challenge, but thanks to persistently studying in Japanese classes organized by the facility, I gradually became more confident. Every day I try to learn more vocabulary, practice listening, and practice speaking to adapt to work and life,” Ms. Thuy shared.
Ms. Lakamura, President of Kaifu Sou Special Care Center for the Elderly, said: “The trainees at the center learn very quickly, have good memories and are extremely active. With such abilities, we will try to accept more. The important thing is that when you come to Japan, try to improve your Japanese to make your work and life easier.”
Mr. Tanaka, Manager of Isahaya Chou Special Care Facility for the Elderly, shared: “When I first received the children, I was a bit worried. But over time, with their efforts, studying and working, they have proven their abilities.”
The notoriously strict labor market in Nagasaki in particular and Japan in general is both a challenge and an opportunity for young workers to improve themselves.
At facilities such as Kaifu Sou or Isahaya Chou, interns work in a modern environment, with full advanced support equipment. Living conditions and accommodation are also guaranteed to be safe, creating the best conditions for everyone to work with peace of mind.
Open opportunities
Nagasaki is currently one of the leading prefectures in accepting Vietnamese trainees in fields such as nursing, manufacturing, agriculture and services. For many young people from rural areas of Da Nang city, this is a great opportunity to change their lives and build their future.

“Working in Nagasaki through the cooperation program between the two localities not only helps me have a stable job with a good income, but more importantly, it improves my capacity to find development opportunities in the future in Nagasaki or when I return home,” Ms. Thuy confided.
The success stories of Vietnamese interns in Nagasaki are not only a testament to the effective cooperation between Da Nang and Nagasaki Prefecture, but also a strong motivation for young Vietnamese people who are cherishing the dream of studying and working abroad.
Most of the workers from Da Nang who go to Nagasaki to work are young people from rural and mountainous areas of Quang Nam province (formerly). According to preliminary statistics, in the period from 2021 to the first half of 2025, more than 5,500 workers from Quang Nam province (formerly) went to work in Japan, of which a significant number went to work in Nagasaki.
According to the representative of the Department of Home Affairs, Da Nang city is actively expanding labor cooperation with companies and enterprises in Nagasaki, mainly in the manufacturing, agriculture, health and service sectors. Therefore, the opportunity to find stable jobs in a professional environment with good income in Nagasaki is still open to local youth, especially those in rural and mountainous areas.
To help trainees quickly integrate and stay long-term, Japanese units commit to not only creating favorable conditions for work and accommodation but also organizing classes in Japanese language, Japanese culture and vocational skills. This support has helped young people overcome initial barriers and become more confident in communication and work.
In particular, the units also actively connect with the Vietnamese community in Nagasaki, creating a support network, sharing life and work experiences, helping people far from home feel less lonely.
