Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Gia Long received the Chief Representative of GNI in Vietnam

On the afternoon of August 28, at the Provincial People's Committee headquarters, Comrade Hoang Gia Long, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, had a courtesy meeting with Mr. Park Dong Chul, Chief Representative of Good Neighbors International (GNI) in Vietnam. Also receiving the delegation were leaders of a number of sectors in the province.

Comrade Hoang Gia Long, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, received Mr. Park Dong Chul, Chief Representative of GNI in Vietnam.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Gia Long informed the delegation about the results of the merger and establishment of the new Tuyen Quang province. After the merger, Tuyen Quang province has many more strengths in terms of transportation; rich and diverse culture; many attractive tourist destinations. However, Tuyen Quang province is still a province with many particularly difficult socio -economic areas; high rate of poor and near-poor households; difficulties in health care and education.

In recent times, the province has proactively cooperated with many international organizations; non-governmental organizations are implementing projects in Tuyen Quang, including GNI, which is also the organization with the longest operating time in the province in the fields of education and training, health, especially for children; creating jobs for ethnic minority women.

Mr. Park Dong Chul, Chief Representative of GNI in Vietnam, presented gifts to Tuyen Quang province.

Vice Chairman of the People's Committee Hoang Gia Long hopes that GNI will continue to implement projects in the province, helping to improve health care, education for children and enhance the capacity of grassroots officials. At the same time, he suggested that GNI expand its investment scale to other communes, especially remote and border communes. Tuyen Quang province continues to affirm its commitment to creating all favorable conditions for GNI and other organizations to operate effectively in the area.

On behalf of the delegation, GNI representative Park Dong Chul thanked Tuyen Quang province for the warm, thoughtful and attentive reception, and emphasized that to achieve the results in the past time, GNI has received attention and support from the province to the grassroots. Mr. Park Dong Chul expressed his wish to continue receiving support from the provincial leaders in the coming time. He also affirmed that in the coming time, he will continue to implement projects in communes with the goal of building a model for projects implemented in Vietnam.
