For about two weeks now, many agricultural products such as lychee, durian, dragon fruit... have entered harvest season, and the number of vehicles transporting agricultural products to Lang Son border gates to complete export procedures to China has increased.
Faced with this reality, the People's Committee of Lang Son province proactively held an online meeting with the People's Government of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (China). The two sides agreed to direct functional units to deploy synchronous measures to create the most favorable conditions for import and export activities, especially fresh agricultural products.

Mr. Tran Anh Tuan, Deputy Head of Tan Thanh Customs, Customs Branch VI, said that the unit has proposed to extend customs clearance time and arrange a separate lane for lychee to shorten the time and maintain the quality of exported goods.
According to Mr. Tuan: "We try to assign and arrange civil servants at all positions to ensure customs clearance of import and export goods for the business community in the context of increased traffic volume, not to let goods get stuck at the border gate."
Customs procedures are processed quickly, many items such as dragon fruit, mango, jackfruit, banana, durian, etc. are cleared on the same day. Customs officers work through lunch, including Saturdays and Sundays, contributing to reducing waiting time, saving costs for businesses and limiting damage to goods due to storage and waiting. Allowing Chinese trucks to enter Vietnamese ports to pick up goods also reduces loading and unloading pressure, increasing transportation efficiency.
According to some truck owners:
"Customs fully supports businesses in completing procedures, and businesses still export 5-6 vehicles every day."
"I transported dragon fruit from Long An to the border gate. Even though it was a weekend, the officers still worked normally, creating very good conditions for customs clearance. I was very excited."
Since the beginning of 2025, import-export turnover through Lang Son province's border gates has reached nearly 39 billion USD, an increase of 38% over the same period in 2024. To maintain smooth traffic, the Border Guard force at the border gate has increased its manpower and created separate lanes for vehicles carrying agricultural products to avoid prolonged congestion.
Thanks to the synchronous implementation of solutions, despite the high volume of export vehicles, the border gates in Lang Son province are still open, agricultural exports are prioritized, creating favorable conditions for customs clearance within the day. (Photo: VOV.VN) |
Captain Dong Dinh Yen, Deputy Head of Tan Thanh Border Guard Station, said: "For border work, we have increased the number of shifts and on-duty teams. The Chinese side also requested to work overtime at noon, so we arranged for staff to work overtime to create maximum conditions for import and export activities."
The spirit of flexible coordination, readiness to serve and accompany businesses of Lang Son province's functional forces is contributing to maintaining the agricultural supply chain, avoiding congestion, and promoting effective and sustainable agricultural trade.
