The press photo contest "Vietnam on the journey of innovation" organized by Nhan Dan Newspaper in collaboration with the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists aims to record and reflect the country's comprehensive innovation journey in all areas of social life: people, community, living space and national cultural identity, through the creative and humane perspective of the author.
The contest aims to inspire creativity, while recording and spreading authentic images of the country's innovation process in the fields of economy , culture, society, science-technology, environment, defense, etc.
Through the creative lens of professional and amateur photographers, the contest contributes to vividly reflecting a modern, innovative, humane, sustainably developed and national-identity-rich Vietnam.
The contest is open to all professional and amateur photographers nationwide. Authors can submit color or black and white photos, single photos or photo series.
The photo entries reflect Vietnam's comprehensive innovation journey through images of people, communities and living spaces, such as reflecting changes in rural, mountainous, border and island areas... through infrastructure development, production, life, community tourism,education , healthcare and new rural construction; Recording changes in urban spaces: planning, transportation, green and smart cities, urban life in the digital age; Honoring the image of Vietnamese people in the innovation period: workers, intellectuals, armed forces, farmers, scientists, teachers, businessmen, young people... with the spirit of creativity, adaptation, dedication and integration...
Speaking at the launching ceremony, comrade Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association, said that in 1998 and 2013, Nhan Dan Newspaper organized the first and second "Virtue, Talent and Beauty of Vietnam" Photo Contests, attracting a large number of professional photographers as well as amateur photographers nationwide to participate, achieving many successes.
Since 2015, Nhan Dan Newspaper has continuously organized photo contests about Vietnam on Nhan Dan Television, attracting a large number of contestants and being recognized by colleagues and audiences.
Editor-in-Chief Le Quoc Minh said that the photo contest "Vietnam on the journey of innovation" this time aims to promote the image of the country and Vietnamese people in the new era, the achievements in politics, economy, society, culture as well as the position of Vietnam in the process of international integration during the 40 years of innovation.
"We hope that the organization of the contest will create a playground for artists, reporters, and a large number of photography lovers to demonstrate their abilities. Photographer Ho Sy Minh, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, said that each year the Association organizes 10-15 photo contests at regional, national and international levels. The participation of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists ensures the artistic quality of the entries from the establishment of rules to inviting highly qualified members of the Jury.
Photographer Ho Sy Minh said that Nhan Dan Newspaper is a prestigious, powerful and influential press agency in society, especially in recent years with many innovations, reaching many components of society, having diverse media channels, helping to effectively spread information about the contest, attracting public attention.

Talking about the dissemination of the entries, Editor-in-Chief Le Quoc Minh said that in addition to exhibitions and book printing, the entries will also be posted on publications and platforms of Nhan Dan Newspaper for a wide range of readers to know. In addition, other newspapers can re-post and cite the source of photos from Nhan Dan Newspaper.
Sharing about the identification of photos with AI intervention, Editor-in-Chief Le Quoc Minh said that the winning authors must submit original photos with full parameters and data. "The members of the jury and technology experts will carefully review to avoid cases of AI intervention," said the Editor-in-Chief.
Regarding the award structure, there is 1 Special Prize worth 50 million VND, 2 A prizes worth 30 million VND each, 3 B prizes worth 20 million VND each, 5 C prizes worth 10 million VND each, 10 Encouragement prizes worth 5 million VND each, along with additional prizes for single photos and photo reports. At the same time, the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists will present awards and certificates of regional exhibitions to the winning works...
The contest period is from June 28, 2025 to January 31, 2026. Entries are sent via thianh.nhandan.vn. Among the entries, the Organizing Committee will select about 100 works for the final round to display and print in books. The best works will be selected to receive awards.
The Award Ceremony will take place on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the first issue of Nhan Dan Newspaper (March 11, 2026).
