A native of Thai Binh who spent 10 years in the Saigon-Gia Dinh special forces, veteran Pham Hai Trieu, with the alias "Bay Trieu," was the former Battalion Commander of the heroic Gia Dinh 4 special forces battalion.

He was one of the witnesses in the last battle of the historic Ho Chi Minh campaign, marking the end of the resistance war against the US to save the country, completely liberating the South, and unifying the country. For him, April 30, 1975 is a proud and unforgettable memory…

He enlisted in 1963 and was trained in the Special Forces. In September 1967, he entered the Southeast battlefield and joined the Urban Commando special forces.

In April 1975, as the battalion commander of the Gia Dinh special forces battalion, the commando soldier with the code name "Bay Trieu" and his teammates received a mission from the Command Headquarters in the Ho Chi Minh campaign on April 20, 1975./.
