Celebrating the 75th Anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Vietnam Youth Volunteer Force (July 15, 1950 - July 15, 2025)

During the days of July - the season of gratitude, the image of the Capital's soldiers in familiar green uniforms is present in almost all localities in the city, examining, providing medicine and giving gifts to policy beneficiaries and people with meritorious services to the revolution.

Not only an annual activity, this has become a beautiful humane feature, deeply demonstrating the morality of "When drinking water, remember its source" that the Hanoi Capital Command has spread for many years.

It was only 7am on June 21, but many people with meritorious services in Phuong Liet Ward were already present at the Medical Station waiting to be examined. Mr. Nguyen Van Liem - an Agent Orange victim - shared: “I received an invitation to a free medical examination two days ago. Although my house is near the hospital and my children and grandchildren often take me there, this time was special because a military doctor directly examined me. I felt very moved and excited, so I went to the medical station with my grandson early to wait for the examination.”

At the examination, 190 policy beneficiaries of Phuong Liet ward were carefully examined by doctors and nurses of the Air Defense - Air Force Medical Hospital (Air Defense - Air Force) for their health status, such as measuring blood pressure, examining ears - nose - throat, measuring vision, ultrasound, electrocardiogram... Doctors also enthusiastically advised and carefully instructed each person on how to take care of their health and effective treatment methods for the diseases they are experiencing. On this occasion, the Air Defense - Air Force Medical Hospital presented 10 gifts (each worth 700 thousand VND) to 10 outstanding individuals who are policy beneficiaries of the ward.

Sharing the same excitement as many people with merit in Phuong Liet ward, Mr. Le Tien Huan (Phuc Tho commune), just stepped out of the ear - nose - throat examination area, shared: "I have had chronic bronchitis for a long time, now that the military doctors and nurses have examined me, given me detailed advice and given me specific instructions on how to use the medicine, I feel secure in my treatment". As for Ms. Le Thi Nguyen (Phuc Tho commune), it has been a long time since she went to see a doctor, so when she met the doctor, she proactively asked for detailed advice about her eyes. She shared: "My eyes have been bad for a long time, making daily activities very inconvenient. Today, I was examined and consulted by doctors from Military Hospital 105 (General Department of Logistics - Technology, Ministry of National Defense ). I will discuss with my children and grandchildren to arrange a time to go to the hospital to have my lenses replaced".

These are the sincere shares of two of the 243 meritorious people in Phuc Tho commune who participated in the medical examination organized by Military Hospital 105 on the occasion of July 27. Here, people were examined in all specialties such as ultrasound, electrocardiogram, ear - nose - throat..., prescribed, dispensed medicine and instructed on appropriate health care.

Implementing the guidelines and viewpoints of the Party, the State, the Central Military Commission - the Ministry of National Defense and Hanoi City on the work of "repaying gratitude" as well as the military and military rear policies, every year the Hanoi Capital Command carries out many practical activities to care for people with meritorious services. On the occasion of July 27, the Hanoi Capital Command coordinates to organize medical examinations, health consultations, and provide free medicine to policy beneficiaries in many localities. At the same time, it organizes delegations to visit and present gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, Heroes of the People's Armed Forces, veteran revolutionary cadres, pre-uprising cadres, relatives of martyrs, war invalids, seriously ill soldiers, policy families with difficult circumstances; poor students, relatives of soldiers on active duty... In addition, the Capital Command also actively coordinates to build and present gratitude houses, great solidarity houses, and comrade houses; Combine organizing field trips to do mass mobilization work and support policy households in the area.

This year, the Hanoi Capital Command continues to coordinate with 60 hospitals inside and outside the military, the city's regional defense commands, and the People's Committees of communes and wards to examine, provide health care advice, provide medicine, and give gifts to policy beneficiaries in the city from June 19 to July 27 in 60 communes and wards. Colonel Nguyen Cong Hai - Head of the Policy Department, Hanoi Capital Command, said: "It is expected that in this series of gratitude activities, about 12,000 policy beneficiaries will receive free medical examinations, consultations, medicine, and gifts."

In the journey of gratitude, repayment and appreciation of the officers and soldiers of the Hanoi Capital Command, there is always close accompaniment from the City Defense Commands, local authorities and many large hospitals such as the 108 Central Military Hospital, 103 Military Hospital, Thanh Nhan Hospital, Duc Giang Hospital, Hanoi Kidney Hospital... At each examination point, people are not only served by a team of highly qualified doctors and nurses but also have access to modern equipment, in a methodical, dedicated and thoughtful organization process.

In addition to the humanitarian and sentimental values, the activity of showing gratitude to those who have contributed to the country also has a profound meaning of educating the tradition. “The younger generation - those who participate in medical examinations, support the examination process as well as witness the activities will better understand the sacrifices and losses that the previous generation has gone through to preserve every inch of the homeland. At the same time, through this, the affection between the army and the people will also become increasingly stronger, because this is not only one-way support but also a relationship of sharing and attachment. When people believe in the army, are willing to open their hearts and accompany the army, the “people's heart position” is not only a political concept but becomes a sustainable reality” - Major General Nguyen Khac Nhan, Deputy Commissar of the Hanoi Capital Command emphasized.
