Lesson 4: Sustainable agricultural production area, strong border
After the merger, the communes of Hung Thuan, Phuoc Chi, and Thanh Duc not only retain traditional rural features but also play an important role in ensuring security and economic development in the border area.
The natural picture of Phuoc Chi commune with its vast fields and rich river system is both a tourism potential and a foundation for agricultural development.
Hung Thuan Commune - A fertile land with a strong hometown spirit
Hung Thuan commune was formed after merging the old Hung Thuan and Don Thuan communes. With a total area of 102.72km² and a population of about 26,546 people, this place still retains its rustic, simple features with a mild climate, fertile land and vast fields.
Lush green rice fields, fruit orchards and abundant water resources make Hung Thuan a “green land” of Tay Ninh. The commune’s economic structure still focuses on agriculture, constantly applying advanced technology to improve productivity and product quality. Typical products such as rice, vegetables, tubers, fruits and handicrafts not only serve local needs but also gradually gain a foothold in the market.
The uniqueness of Hung Thuan lies in its traditional cultural heritage preserved through festivals, folk games and long-standing customs and practices. The people here are always proud of the cultural values imbued with the identity of their homeland. Countryside festivals and craft village fairs are not only an opportunity to connect the community but also help the younger generation to continue and promote historical values.
Besides agriculture, Hung Thuan is also known for its potential for developing rural ecotourism. The beautiful natural landscape, diverse ecosystem and profound cultural values promise to be an ideal destination for tourists who want to find peace and experience the soul of the Southern countryside.
Experiential tourism programs, homestays and culinary specialties are opening up new directions, not only creating more income for the people but also promoting the unique image of the locality. Hung Thuan commune will aim for sustainable rural development, where tradition and modernity blend, opening a new and promising chapter.
Phuoc Chi Commune - Gateway to border development
Phuoc Chi commune was formed from the merger of Phuoc Binh and the old Phuoc Chi communes, with the goal of optimizing management and ensuring security for the southwestern border area of the province. The new administrative unit has an area of 82.84 km² and a population of about 31,461 people, headquartered in the old Phuoc Binh commune, creating favorable conditions for management and coordination. Phuoc Chi's geographical location has a special strategic significance.
Located in a sensitive border area, this place has both trade opportunities and challenges in protecting national security. The natural picture with vast fields, green hills and a rich river system is both a tourism potential and a foundation for agricultural development.
Economically, Phuoc Chi commune is oriented towards sustainable development. Traditional agriculture still plays a key role with high-quality rice and fruit products. At the same time, the application of advanced farming technology is opening up the potential to transform agriculture towards green, clean and sustainable. Border economic activities also contribute to increasing the value of local products and promoting trade.
Phuoc Chi’s cultural identity is expressed through folk festivals and unique customs and practices, which are factors that attract tourists and develop eco-tourism. With its position as a “security gateway”, the local government pays attention to border control and protection; at the same time, it issues preferential policies on infrastructure and supports businesses to promote the economy, ensuring harmonious development between economy, culture and national defense.
Thanh Duc Commune - Building the future on heritage foundation
Thanh Duc Commune was formed from the merger of Cam Giang and the old Thanh Duc Communes, a land imbued with the breath of the past and the aspiration to reach the future. With an area of 99.06 km² and a population of 44,539 people, this arrangement not only optimizes management but also creates a new “development landscape” where traditional values are combined with modern scientific and technological orientation.
Located in the center of the rural area in Tay Ninh, Thanh Duc commune is oriented to develop strongly in the industrial and service sectors, opening up space for high-tech investment projects to improve productivity and quality of life. Development plans ensure the preservation of traditional agricultural values such as rice and vegetable production, while orienting the development of light industrial zones and service centers to support production and consumption. This direction not only helps diversify the economy but also creates many new job opportunities.
Besides economic potential, Thanh Duc commune also possesses rich cultural and historical values preserved through customs, festivals and ancient architectural works.
The combination of modern and traditional elements creates a vivid picture, where each cultural activity not only connects the community but also inspires innovation, introducing the “countryside soul” of Tay Ninh to friends near and far. The commune’s infrastructure is being systematically invested in and improved with projects to build modern transportation, water supply and drainage, and telecommunications systems.
These projects are a solid foundation for attracting industrial and service investment projects, promoting the process of economic restructuring. Thanh Duc commune is considered the “seeding ground” for the sustainable development of Tay Ninh’s rural areas, where heritage and future meet./.
