Authorities take measures to search for victims of a work accident in an industrial park in Binh Duong province (old).
This is to implement Resolution No. 190/2025/QH15 dated February 19, 2025 of the National Assembly regulating the handling of a number of issues related to the reorganization of the state apparatus and ensuring proper implementation of the provisions of the Law on Occupational Safety and Hygiene.
The Ministry of Home Affairs said that according to Point b, Clause 1, Article 7 of Resolution No. 190/2025/QH15 dated February 19, 2025 of the National Assembly, after the reorganization of the state apparatus, agencies that no longer organize inspections shall perform inspection functions and tasks within the scope of state management as prescribed by law.
The agency assigned to perform specialized inspection functions after the reorganization of the state apparatus does not perform specialized inspection functions but performs specialized inspection functions and tasks according to the provisions of law.
At the same time, based on Clause 2, Article 35 of the Law on Labor Safety and Hygiene, the Department of Home Affairs is responsible for establishing a provincial-level labor accident investigation team.
The composition of the labor accident investigation team decided by the Department of Home Affairs includes: a representative of the unit (office) under the Department of Home Affairs with the function of advising on the implementation of state management tasks in the field of labor safety and hygiene as the head of the team; a representative of the Department of Health; a representative of the provincial Labor Federation and other members (if considered necessary).
The Ministry of Home Affairs requested that the Departments of Home Affairs promptly establish provincial-level accident investigation teams to investigate accident labor in accordance with legal regulations.
According to local reports, the estimated material damage caused by work accidents occurring in 2024 (such as costs for medicine, burial, compensation for families of the deceased and injured people, etc.) is over VND 42,565 billion (an increase of about VND 26,208 billion compared to 2023); property damage is over VND 492 billion (a decrease of about VND 230 billion compared to 2023).
In the first 6 months of 2025, there were many serious work accidents, typically the death of 3 people at a factory under repair in Dat Cuoc Industrial Park, Bac Tan Uyen District, Binh Duong Province (old) on April 18; the death of 2 people and 3 injuries at Phuong Nam Ceramic Tile Company (old Dong Nai) suspected to be due to CO poisoning on May 26 or the work accident due to landslides and rockslides that occurred on May 16, 2025 at the construction site of the A1 concrete dam of the Ta Pao Ho 1A hydropower project, La Nhi Thang village, Si Lo Lau commune, Phong Tho district, Lai Chau province, killing 5 people and injuring 4 others...
This shows that occupational safety and health work needs to be given more attention and strengthened.
