Recently, a video of a homemade flying saucer being tested on a river in Kien Giang has attracted more than 8.6 million views. This flying saucer is eye-catching in shape and decoration, and can open and close automatically. This model is also equipped with an engine, can carry up to 2 people and move flexibly on the water surface.

The owner of this flying saucer is Mr. Tran Long Ho, a famous YouTuber named Thanh Che – Mr. Ho, with more than 1.1 million followers on social networks. He currently lives in Phu Loi commune, Giang Thanh district, Kien Giang province.

Although not an expert, thanks to his passion for creativity, Mr. Ho has successfully created a flying saucer with a jet ski engine, which can reach a speed of about 50km/h. Mr. Ho said that he often watches videos about astronomy and foreign flying saucers, so he is passionate about research. He has cherished this idea for a long time, so he decided to create it to try it out. According to Mr. Ho, this product is only made for entertainment and not used as a main means of transportation on water.

Sharing about the process of making and manufacturing the product, the owner of the flying saucer said that the entire part of the flying saucer is made of composite plastic, the lower part is equipped with an engine like a normal boat running on water. The total weight of this flying saucer is nearly 300kg. Although heavy, because it is designed in the shape of a saucer, it is very difficult to capsize or sink.

According to Mr. Ho, to make this flying saucer, he had to go through many steps. First, he used charcoal to draw many concentric circles on the floor and then covered it with sand to create a mold shaped like a flying saucer. Then, he poured liquid composite resin onto the mold, creating the outer shell. Once the mold was dry, he reinforced it by bending, cutting, and welding iron inside. After that, he cut the doors and installed motors so that the two doors could open and close automatically with a switch.

To make the model vivid and eye-catching, he created many windows with patterns and designed a multi-colored lighting system and a beautiful multi-button switch panel like in science fiction movies.

Mr. Ho said he had checked the safety of the flying saucer many times. Thanks to its disc-shaped structure, this product is very difficult to flip or sink. The interior is designed with an air conditioner to draw air into the compartment so that the occupants do not feel hot or overwhelmed. It took him about 4 months to complete this product at a production cost of about 60 million VND.

He said that he only researched and learned about manufacturing himself, and did not come from a mechanical engineering background. Two years ago, to save money, he started buying old components from scrap metal collection points to make his own small boats with unique and eye-catching styles. Thanks to his passion and constant creativity, he has successfully created many new models, attracting millions of interested viewers.

In the near future, Mr. Ho also plans to register to study for additional degrees related to controlling water vehicles.

According to the Department of Transport of Kien Giang province, water vehicles with a speed of over 30km/h must be registered and inspected according to the law and the operator must have a relevant degree. The department also encourages creativity and is ready to support new inventions by people in the province to ensure safety and intellectual property rights.
