34 works awarded at the photo and video contest 'Happy Vietnam 2024'

(CLO) At 8:00 p.m. on December 11, at the Hanoi Opera House, the Ministry of Information and Communications in coordination with the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists held the Opening Ceremony of the exhibition and announced the awards of the Photo and Video Contest "Happy Vietnam - Happy Vietnam 2024".


The event will be broadcast live on VTV4 Foreign Affairs Channel of Vietnam Television, livestreamed on VTV Digital channel and on Vietnam Image Promotion Platform (https://vietnam.vn).

According to Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, Director of the Department of External Information (Ministry of Information and Communications), this is the second time the contest has been held. The contest is a vivid demonstration of the deep concern and consistent policy of the Party and State towards the work of caring for the material and spiritual life of the people, taking the people as the center, in the spirit of "leaving no one behind." Creating all favorable conditions for people to participate, contribute, and promote their capacity and intelligence in the cause of building, developing, protecting the Fatherland, and integrating the country internationally.

More than 10,000 works participated in the Photo and Video Contest 'Happy Vietnam - Happy Vietnam 2024'.

The contest creates opportunities for people nationwide, overseas Vietnamese, and international friends to express their love for their homeland and country and their passion in creating photos and videos to promote the image of the country and Vietnamese people to the world . Thereby, arousing the aspiration to develop a prosperous and happy nation; promoting cultural values and the strength of the Vietnamese people in the new era.

After nearly 7 months of launching the contest, from March 20 to the deadline for receiving entries on October 15, the contest has attracted a total of 6,863 authors with 10,327 photo and video works, including 9,657 photo works and 670 video works. Among the participating authors, there are 581 international authors, 265 Vietnamese authors abroad with nearly 1,000 works and more than 50% of the authors have participated in the 2023 contest.

After many days of serious and fair work, the Jury and Organizing Committee selected 60 videos and 150 best photos to display at the exhibition, of which 34 best works were awarded prizes.

Each work is an interesting story, an impressive moment or a meaningful message about love for homeland and country, with pride, love and aspiration for a prosperous and happy life throughout the S-shaped strip of land of Vietnam.

The total prize value of both photo and video categories is up to nearly 400 million VND, including 2 Gold medals; 4 Silver medals; 6 Bronze medals, 20 Encouragement prizes. The value of the Gold medal is 70 million VND; Silver medal is 20 million VND; Bronze medal is 10 bronzes; Encouragement prize is 5 million VND and other secondary prizes.

After the award ceremony, selected works will continue to be exhibited domestically and internationally, serving the communication and promotion of Vietnam's achievements in ensuring human rights in 2025.
