On September 26, the Ministry of Health coordinated with the Vietnam Young Physicians Association to organize a program to provide free medical examinations and medicine to more than 1,000 people affected by storms and floods in Hoa Binh province.

The doctors participating in examining the people are doctors from the Vietnam Young Physicians Association, Viet Duc Hospital, Bach Mai Hospital, Xanh Pon Hospital... and 20 doctors from the South.

Deputy Minister of Health Tran Van Thuan shared that this is one of the practical support activities for localities heavily affected by typhoon Yagi.

"This is an activity to support people's access to high-quality healthcare, increase resilience and sustainable development, for a healthy Vietnam that leaves no one behind," said Mr. Thuan.

Within the framework of the program, more than 1,000 local people received free medical examinations and screening tests such as general internal medicine examinations, specialized gastroenterology and dermatology examinations, ultrasound, electrocardiogram, basic blood tests, and free medicine.

This is the first time that people of Muong Chieng commune have had access to a medical team with high expertise, equipment, supplies, and medicine distributed in sufficient quantities.

Through examining the people, doctors discovered many cases with signs of goiter, alcoholic cirrhosis, fatty liver, kidney stones, kidney stones, ureteral stones, cervical, back, knee degeneration, stomach pain. Many cases of sinusitis, otitis media, perforated eardrums, etc.

Doctors also discovered that 2 children had heart rhythm disorders and were referred to the hospital for examination. Many cases had digestive disorders and pneumonia.

In addition, the organizers also presented gifts worth tens of millions of VND to households and medical staff affected by natural disasters.

Access to free, high-quality medical services in Muong Chieng has brought hope and strength to people after natural disasters, contributing to restoring life and improving community health here.
