The agreement affirms that the two countries recognize and respect each other's sovereignty, territorial integrity, inviolability of international borders and political independence; do not and will not make territorial claims; do not use or threaten to use force; and do not interfere in each other's internal affairs.
The two sides will establish diplomatic relations within a certain period of time after ratification; negotiate border demarcation and marker planting; not deploy third-party forces along the border; implement security measures and build trust; and cooperate in combating extremism, terrorism, and discrimination.
The agreement also covers the handling of disappearances in conflict; economic, environmental, humanitarian and cultural cooperation; dispute resolution mechanisms; withdrawal or termination of all previous complaints; and the establishment of a bilateral commission to monitor implementation.
The document comes into force after completing internal procedures and is drawn up in Armenian, Azerbaijani and English, with the English version taking precedence in case of any discrepancy in the meaning of a provision in any official document./.
