During the initial phase of Nhon Trach Bridge exploitation, trucks over 1.5 tons and passenger cars over 16 seats are temporarily banned from entering this route to ensure traffic safety.

On the morning of August 19, the Ministry of Construction coordinated with the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and the People's Committee of Dong Nai province to organize the inauguration ceremony of component project 1A, Tan Van - Nhon Trach section, belonging to Ho Chi Minh City's Ring Road 3 (Nhon Trach bridge).

This is a key project in a series of 250 projects inaugurated and started nationwide with a total investment of more than 1.28 million billion VND.

The My Thuan Project Management Board said that in the past time, together with contractors and supervision consultants, they organized construction in "3 shifts, 4 teams", overcoming many difficulties. Thanks to that, the project was completed on schedule, qualified for acceptance and traffic opening.

Component project 1A is about 8.14km long including bridges and access roads. The starting point connects Nhon Trach commune ( Dong Nai ) and the ending point connects the old Thu Duc city (belonging to Ho Chi Minh City).

The total investment of this project is over 6,955 billion VND, the road is nearly 20m wide. Nhon Trach Bridge is also built synchronously, suitable for the roadbed size.

The inauguration of Nhon Trach Bridge and the new route not only adds a new route from Dong Nai to Ho Chi Minh City but also significantly reduces traffic pressure in the inner city, especially Cat Lai ferry and the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway, which is often congested.

At the same time, this project gradually completes Beltway 3, helping to develop the Southeast region, creating favorable conditions for transporting goods and connecting inter-regions.

According to My Thuan Project Management Board (investor), the entire route is 8.7km long.

When put into operation, Nhon Trach Bridge will open a new route for vehicles from Ho Chi Minh City to Dong Nai, Ba Ria - Vung Tau (old). At the end of this year, the remaining section to Tan Van intersection, about 15km long, will also be cleared, creating a complete, inter-regional traffic axis.

Traffic organization through Nhon Trach bridge

From 7am on August 20, the project will be put into operation in its first phase. From now until the end of 2026, cars, passenger vans with less than 16 seats and trucks with less than 1.5 tons will be allowed to travel, while motorbikes will only be allowed to travel from Provincial Road 25B (Dong Nai) to Ly Tu Trong intersection, not across the bridge.

After December 2026, when other component sections of Ring Road 3 are completed, the route will operate as a 4-lane highway with a speed of 100km/h. Nhon Trach Bridge will organize mixed traffic with 2 motor lanes and 2 mixed lanes, ensuring a maximum speed of 80km/h for cars and 60km/h for mixed vehicles.
