Construction of Phong Tho Primary and Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities started

On the morning of August 19, Lai Chau Provincial People's Committee and Vietnam National Industry and Energy Group held the groundbreaking ceremony for the Phong Tho Primary and Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities.

The investment project to build Phong Tho Primary and Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities has a total investment of 199.682 billion VND, from the project implementation capital sponsored by the Vietnam National Industry and Energy Group, along with other legal capital sources. The project aims to ensure synchronous facilities for about 1,000 primary and secondary school students in the area, contributing to gradually improving the quality of comprehensive education for ethnic minority students.

The project is deployed on an area of 4.5 - 5 hectares, with an investment scale including: 30 classrooms, a principal's office, departmental rooms, student dormitories, 3 kitchens, a dining room, a living area, a playground, a sports area, a teacher's office, a multi-purpose house, a swimming pool and other auxiliary items and synchronous equipment. The project is expected to be completed before August 30, 2026.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Tran Quang Dung, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Vietnam National Energy Industry Group, emphasized: Every year, the Group spends from 500 to 700 billion VND to implement social security in all regions of the country. In recent years, the Group has supported the renovation and upgrading of a number of educational facilities in Lai Chau province.

Celebrating the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), the Group has spent 100 billion VND to support the construction of Phong Tho Primary and Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities with the desire to contribute to building a quality, safe, healthy, and experiential learning environment for Phong Tho students in particular and Lai Chau province in general.

Mr. Le Van Luong, Chairman of Lai Chau Provincial People's Committee, affirmed: The province will commit to completing the investment project to build Phong Tho Primary and Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities according to plan, schedule and use for the right purpose. In the coming time, Lai Chau province hopes to continue to receive the attention and support of the Vietnam National Energy Industry Group in implementing more social security projects.

Those practical contributions will be an important resource, contributing step by step to continue the journey of sustainable development, improving people's lives and narrowing regional gaps.
