Speaking at the press conference, coach Futoshi Ikeda said: “First of all, I would like to congratulate the Vietnamese women's team after this match. They deserved to win.

The Thai women's team has many young players. They will learn a lot from such failures. We need to improve and continue to progress in the future.

The SEA Games will take place at the end of this year. This is an important tournament when Thailand plays at home. We will select the best players to compete in that tournament with the aim of winning the championship. Not only in Southeast Asia, but women's football is developing all over the world .

We want to prepare well for the future and achieve more success. The team made many mistakes in the Southeast Asian championship. We still have many things to improve for the SEA Games. The whole team will prepare the best to move towards strong development in the future."

When asked which player made the most impression on the Vietnamese women's team, coach Futoshi Ikeda refused to answer.

In the match against Thailand, Huynh Nhu ended the two-year goal drought for the Vietnamese women's team. The team's other two goals were scored by Hai Yen and Bich Thuy. This was the fourth consecutive victory of the Vietnamese women's team against Thailand. That shows that we are still developing in the right direction. The loss to the Australian U23 women's team in the semi-finals was just an accident for the Vietnamese women's team.
