Following the staff of Transaction Office 03 - TYM Thanh Hoa branch, we met Ms. Pham Thi Ngan, a customer of cluster 87, Trung Hau village, Hoang Phu commune, one of 11 TYM customers honored and awarded the business development award for female small and micro business owners. She is also the owner of the Project "Growing my business". Her project was awarded the "For the community" award, with a model of manufacturing and sewing supermarket bags and weaving handicraft products for export to markets in several countries around the world . Through research, it is known that in 2008, Ms. Ngan established Trung Kien handicraft export cooperative, with the main business of weaving trays, boxes, and carpets from sedge, duckweed, and rattan. At that time, her cooperative only had 10 employees, so it could not meet market demand. At the same time, due to limited capital, it was difficult to expand the factory and buy raw materials. In 2017, TYM Thanh Hoa branch started operating in Hoang Phu commune, she registered to borrow 50 million VND in installments within 12 months. After 1 year, she paid off the first round of loans and continued to borrow the second round. After nearly 10 years as a customer of TYM, she has borrowed and paid back many rounds of capital to invest in expanding the factory, buying more machinery and equipment for production, business and vocational training for local women.

Currently, Ms. Ngan's cooperative attracts 120 workers. Of these, 25 are female workers who work regularly at the factory, 87 people take work home to do and 3 workers are disabled. The average income of workers at the cooperative is from 4 - 5 million VND/person/month. The group working at the factory alone can reach 7 - 10 million VND/person/month. The women who take goods home to do at home are mostly caregivers of young children, the elderly can also earn 2 - 3 million VND/month, enough to improve their family life. On average, each month, Trung Kien handicraft export cooperative exports about 200,000 supermarket bags and 1,000 handicraft products, with a stable revenue of about 2 billion VND/year, and a profit of 35 - 40 million VND/month. The main products of the cooperative are environmentally friendly supermarket bags and handicrafts using raw materials from rattan, bamboo, sedge, banana stems, and plastic ropes, which are linked with two companies in Ninh Binh province and exported to many countries around the world.

“Having started my own business with many difficulties, I not only rose up, opened a factory to produce environmentally friendly products, exported to many countries around the world, but also created jobs for many women, the elderly and the disabled in the locality. Borrowing capital from TYM, I found this source of capital very suitable, the loan procedure was quick and simple, no collateral was required, and both principal and interest were paid in installments, so I continued to borrow to maintain and develop production. In my economic development journey, TYM has always accompanied me, even in the most difficult times as well as when I have stabilized and developed steadily. TYM's capital and the course "Growing My Business" (AMB) have completely changed my family's life. The "For the Community" award of the "Growing My Business" Project is a worthy recognition, great encouragement, helping me to be more confident on the road ahead" - Ms. Ngan shared.

Mr. Nguyen Nhu Dien, Director of TYM Thanh Hoa branch, said: Immediately after the AMB Project was implemented, TYM Thanh Hoa successfully organized 4 training courses on "Sales skills"; 4 training courses on "Improving competitiveness in the integration period" for TYM customers; online training for more than 8,000 customers on knowledge and skills on entrepreneurship and business, financial literacy, using digital technology in business... Thereby, helping poor women use TYM loans more effectively, mastering the household economy. At the same time, contributing to improving the position of women in society, promoting gender equality, bringing economic benefits and efficiency to the digital transformation process. Among more than 8,000 TYM Thanh Hoa customers who have been granted business start-up certificates, many have applied the knowledge they have learned into practical, effective and sustainable business models.

In 2024, TYM Thanh Hoa had 8 customers honored to receive the "First Business Development for Female Business Owners" award from the AMB Project, of which 2 won first prize; 6 won second prize. In 2025, TYM Thanh Hoa had 7 customers winning prizes; of which 1 prize for the community, 2 third prizes, 4 consolation prizes. In this second award ceremony, customer Pham Thi Ngan was honored by TYM and awarded the "For the community" award for business development for female owners of small, micro and household businesses of the "Grow my business" project based on 4 criteria, which are economic efficiency, future sustainability, environmental protection, and support for women and the community.

The Business Development Award is an activity within the framework of the project “Grow My Business: Enhancing the capacity to support the development of women-owned micro, small and growing enterprises in Vietnam” funded by The Asia Foundation and the Center for Women’s Development as the project owner. The award is given to female micro, small and small business owners, household businesses, and also project students to help them start, maintain and develop sustainable businesses.
