MU fans look forward to Mbeumo's debut. |
Mbeumo will become a new United player after Brentford accepted a total offer of £71 million for the Cameroon striker. However, the striker did not have time to undergo a medical to make his debut in the pre-season friendly against Leeds in Stockholm (Sweden) on the night of July 19.
Mbeumo is expected to be in the MU squad that will travel to Chicago (USA) next week. Here, the "Red Devils" will have 3 matches in the "Premier League Summer Series" friendly tournament, facing West Ham, Bournemouth and Everton.
Mbeumo returned to training at Brentford earlier this week and is keeping himself fit as he prepares to make his debut for his new club. The Cameroonian striker is excited about the prospect of playing for United next season.
Despite signing Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha, coach Ruben Amorim will continue to look for a new striker this summer. However, the priority for MU at the moment is to clear some players before being able to make any more deals. The "Red Devils" are ready to listen to offers for Rasmus Hojlund.
New signings Cunha and Diego Leon have travelled with the first team to Sweden for the friendly, with Amorim also adding a number of young faces to his squad, including Patrick Chinazaekpere, Tyler Fredricson and Reece Munro.
Goalkeeper Andre Onana is absent due to a hamstring injury picked up in recent training, while striker Joshua Zirkzee remains at Carrington with a minor problem. Both are expected to be part of the pre-season tour of the United States next week.
Players like Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Tyrell Malacia and Jadon Sancho are training separately from the first team and waiting for the opportunity to move to a new team.
