"The new Israeli airstrike hit the Jousieh border checkpoint, where many Lebanese and Syrians cross from Lebanon to Syria," said Filippo Grandi, head of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights , a UK-based war monitoring organization, also reported that Israel carried out two airstrikes on the Jousieh border crossing on November 2.
"Humanitarian facilities are also being attacked. Even escaping and caring for those who have fled is becoming difficult and dangerous as fighting continues to spread," added Filippo Grandi.

The raid came shortly after the main border crossing between Beirut and Damascus was forced to close following an Israeli airstrike on October 4. There are currently six border crossings between Lebanon and Syria.
Since October 1, Israel has been conducting a ground operation against Hezbollah forces in southern Lebanon, along with air strikes. Despite losses, Hezbollah has continued to fight the Israeli army on the ground and has fired rockets across the border. Israel has said its main goal is to allow the return of 60,000 residents who fled shelling in the north.
On October 13, in a message to United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also asked the United Nations peacekeeping force (UNIFIL) to withdraw its troops from combat areas in southern Lebanon.
According to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, UNIFIL's presence in the region makes this force a "human shield" for Hezbollah forces.
In the message, Prime Minister Netanyahu also said that UNIFIL refused to withdraw its troops from southern Lebanon while Israel conducted military operations against Hezbollah in the region. Mr. Netanyahu said that European leaders should criticize Hezbollah, instead of criticizing Israel.
"We regret the loss of life among UNIFIL forces and Israel is doing everything in its power to prevent such situations from occurring. But the simple and obvious way to ensure an unwanted incident is for UNIFIL to leave the area," Prime Minister Netanyahu added.
