According to IRNA news agency, on June 6, Iran announced its first domestically produced hypersonic ballistic missile .

Iranian state media carried photos of the missile, named Fattah, at a ceremony attended by President Ebrahim Rahisi and senior commanders of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

State television reported that the Fattah missile "can target the enemy's advanced missile defense systems and is a generational breakthrough in the missile field."

The missile is said to be able to overcome advanced US and Israeli missile defense systems, including the Iron Dome system.

Fattah's top speed is 15,000 km/h.

Hypersonic missiles can fly at least five times faster than the speed of sound and follow a complex trajectory that makes them difficult to intercept./.
