Onana is losing his place at MU. |
Onana was not included in the squad for the opening Premier League match, where MU lost 0-1 to Arsenal at Old Trafford on the evening of August 17. After the match, coach Ruben Amorim confirmed that Onana was absent due to injury, not because he had been "cut". However, that did not stop the wave of doubts, especially when his form has declined since the end of last season.
According to SunSport , Inter Milan are considering the possibility of re-signing Onana. In the eyes of many Inter fans, the 29-year-old goalkeeper is still a hero, having played a major role in bringing the blue-black team to the 2023 Champions League final. Inter's board believes that Onana - who joined MU for £47 million immediately after the defeat in Istanbul - could be completely ready for the prospect of returning to San Siro.
Inter currently have Yann Sommer in goal. Although the Swiss goalkeeper played brilliantly and contributed greatly to last season's Champions League campaign, new coach Christian Chivu does not really consider him as the long-term number one choice.
Inter are also said to be in talks with Royal Antwerp over Senne Lammens - a name that is also on MU's radar. However, if the opportunity to recruit Onana opens up, Inter will not hesitate to return to the "old man".
On the other hand, MU is also having a headache with the goalkeeper problem. Altay Bayindir's mistake in the loss to Arsenal has raised concerns about the number one position in goal. In that context, the rumor that MU is contacting to bring David De Gea back to Old Trafford has more basis.
Onana's future has therefore become a hot topic in the transfer market, with the prospect of a reunion between the Cameroon goalkeeper and Inter Milan becoming increasingly clear.
