FIFA has announced that bids to host the 2034 World Cup must be submitted to the organization by October 31. Currently, only Saudi Arabia has officially submitted its bid. Member federations will then vote to select the host country for the 2034 World Cup by the end of 2024.

FIFA recently selected Spain, Morocco and Portugal to co-host the 2030 World Cup, with Uruguay, Paraguay and Argentina hosting the opening matches of the tournament to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the World Cup.

This is a special World Cup, because it takes place in 6 countries and on 3 continents. Therefore, FIFA will only consider proposals to host the next World Cup in 2034 from countries in Asia and Oceania.

Saudi Arabia was an early bidder and is considered the number 1 candidate to host the 2034 World Cup. However, the Football Associations of Indonesia, Australia, Malaysia and Singapore may compete as they are negotiating a joint bid with Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia has officially submitted a bid to FIFA to host the 2034 World Cup.

According to RMC Sport (France): "Indonesia, Australia, Malaysia and Singapore can completely hinder Saudi Arabia in the race to host the 2034 World Cup. PSSI President, Mr. Erick Thohir, also a billionaire, is working most actively to reach an agreement to cooperate with Southeast Asian countries and Australia - a member of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) to participate in the bidding".

However, according to the latest news from the Malaysian press, the President of the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM), Mr. Hamidin Amin announced that his country will not join Indonesia in hosting the 2034 World Cup. The FAM President said that Malaysia will give its full support to all efforts of Saudi Arabia to host the 2034 World Cup.

Therefore, the only possibility left is for Indonesia, Australia and Singapore to cooperate to host the 2034 World Cup. Indonesia has been chosen by FIFA to host the 2023 U.17 World Cup taking place from November 10 to December 2.
