Pepper price today July 13 in the world market

In the world market, based on quotes from export enterprises and export prices in various countries, the International Pepper Community (IPC) has updated the prices of all types of pepper traded in the international market on July 12 (Hanoi time) as follows:

Indonesian Lampung black pepper prices remained unchanged from yesterday at $7,393/ton. In addition, Muntok white pepper prices remained unchanged from yesterday at $10,177/ton.

Brazilian black pepper ASTA 570 price remained unchanged from yesterday at USD 6,225/ton.

Malaysia’s ASTA black pepper price remained unchanged from yesterday at $8,900/ton. Meanwhile, the country’s ASTA white pepper price remained stable from yesterday at $11,750/ton.

Prices of all types of pepper in Vietnam are stable compared to yesterday. Of which, the price of Vietnamese black pepper 500 gr/l is 6,440 USD/ton; 550 gr/l is 6,570 USD/ton.

Similarly, Vietnam's white pepper price remained unchanged from yesterday at $9,150/ton.

Lam Dong is currently the province with the largest pepper growing area in the country, with about 36,000 hectares. Thanks to the cool climate and red basalt soil, this land is especially suitable for growing high-quality pepper.

The province has over 3,100 hectares of pepper certified by standards, along with two high-tech production areas in Thuan Hanh commune with a total area of over 1,500 hectares. Products from these areas are grown organically, meet standards such as Rainforest and have been granted collective trademarks and geographical indications.

Since the beginning of 2025, the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA) has coordinated with businesses to organize training courses in Lam Dong to guide farmers in clean pepper production.

Training contents include GAP and organic farming standards, chemical residue control, pepper harvesting, drying and preservation processes to limit bacterial contamination and impurities. In addition, people are also warned about the risks from traditional materials such as colored packaging and plastic tarpaulins that can cause toxic residues in the product.

The biggest risk today comes from cultivation and post-harvest preservation. Pepper growers are advised to store their products in clean, cool places, and should not consign to agents without a clear contract to avoid risks in price and quality.

In the context of high pepper prices, people should take advantage of selling when the price is good to make up for the low price period of previous years.

With global pepper output forecast to continue to decline in 2025, Vietnam has the opportunity to rise strongly if it can take advantage of its quality and clean products.

The investment of large enterprises in processing and building organic raw material areas in Lam Dong not only helps strengthen the position of Vietnamese pepper in the international market but also creates a sustainable, environmentally friendly value chain that meets global integration standards.
