New York Arabica Coffee Price July 13, 2025
Similarly, at the New York exchange, Arabica coffee prices tended to increase slightly in recent trading sessions, specifically:
September 2025 futures rose 3.75 cents/lb (1.32%) to 287.80 cents/lb.
December 2025 futures rose 3.05 cents/lb (1.09%) to 282.10 cents/lb.
March 2026 futures rose 2.40 cents/lb (0.88%) to 276.55 cents/lb.
May 2026 futures rose 2.15 cents/lb (0.80%) to 271.40 cents/lb.
According to Barchart, coffee prices on the two major exchanges fell in the last trading session of the week, especially robusta coffee, which fell to its lowest level in the past 14 months. The main reason is believed to be due to the favorable progress of the coffee harvest in Brazil, creating downward pressure on prices in the market. A report from Safras & Mercado shows that as of July 9, Brazil had completed 69% of the 2025-2026 coffee harvest, higher than the same period last year and the 5-year average. Of which, 88% of robusta has been harvested, while 58% of arabica has been harvested.
In addition, the supply of robusta from Vietnam has also increased sharply, contributing to pressure on robusta coffee prices in the international market.
On the other hand, Arabica coffee prices rose at the beginning of the session due to concerns about the possibility of the US imposing a 50% tariff on imports from Brazil. However, prices fell back at the end of the session and closed lower. Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva affirmed that he would seek a diplomatic solution but also warned of retaliation if the tariff was applied from August 1.
Brazil is the world’s largest producer and exporter of coffee, while the United States is the largest consumer of coffee, with over 33% of its coffee consumption coming from Brazil. If the tariffs are implemented, Brazilian coffee exports to the United States will be virtually disrupted, and the United States will have difficulty finding alternative sources with comparable quantities and prices.
However, some experts believe that the tariffs could have a short-term positive impact on ICE coffee prices due to increased demand for certified stocks in the U.S. However, in the long term, the tariffs could divert coffee to other markets, increasing supply and putting downward pressure on global prices.
The New York market is reflecting increased demand for coffee storage in the US, and the recent price increase is likely to continue, said Alberto Peixoto, director of brokerage AP Commodities.
